Alexander 'Tig' Trager is the Vice President and former Sergeant-at-Arms of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original charter and a major character on the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Played by Canadian actor Kim Coates. Tig makes his debut in the series' premiere episode, "Pilot", in season one and plays a major role throughout the same and subsequent seasons.

Tig reappears in Mayans MC, a spinoff of FX original series Sons of Anarchy. He appears in the season four finale, "When the Breakdown Hit at Midnight".

Appearance and Style[]

Tig is around his late 40's when we first meet him. He has deep-set, blue eyes and unkempt curly brown hair. Tig also often sports a short beard and moustache. Tig also has a few tattoos; he has the Sons reaper on his right shoulder, on his right forearm, a nude woman with a dagger behind her and the words "Death Before Dishonor" wrapped around the blade; symbolosing Tig's time in the US Marines. Tig also has a doll holding an uzi and a rose on his upper chest. Coates claims in an interview that this is a tribute to Donna Winston after Tig mistakenly kills her at the end of season one. Tig wears two leather buckled bracelets on each wrist and a number of gold and silver rings, many with skull imagery, some of them bearing Sons insignia and one is a crucifix.

Tig frequently wears shirts of darker colours, but sometimes wears purple or pink. His trousers usually consist of dark coloured jeans and brown or black boots.

His kutte isn't customised during the events of Sons of Anarchy and he doesn't wear any optional flashes either, despite most likely meeting the (unclear) requirements to do so. After the death of Jax Teller, on his collar he wears Jax's signature "gun scythes", most likely out of respect for the immense legacy Jax left on the club.

Motorcycle[]

Tig's Bike

Tig has a 2006 Harley Davidson Dyna Street Bob with a lot of customization. He has the twin cam 96 cubic inch motor and custom Harley air filter. The bike sports a lot of skulls and spikes in various places. These along with the engine are in chrome. This much chrome heavily contrasts with Tig's choice of matte black paint instead of the vivid black the rest of the cast have. Tig has a simple S.O.A. logo on his fuel tank instead of an elaborate reaper/rocker combination that is common among the club. Like Clay, Tig has the custom T-Bars with high risers. He has a matte black painted thunderheader exhaust and a bobbed front fender.

Biography[]

Clay and Tig young

A younger Tig and Clay standing next to each other.

Not much is mentioned about Tig's past, but it is likely that he is a native of Charming, and that he has served time in prison. He was arrested in 2001, in Oregon, for assault and indecent exposure inside a livestock transport and skipped out on bail. It is explained in a deleted scene from Season One that he was once in the United States Marine Corps. He is in his mid 50s, and has served as Sergeant-at-Arms of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club's Mother Chapter, which means that he was responsible for discipline within the chapter's jurisdiction. His "day job" is working as a mechanic at the Teller-Morrow auto shop and he is often used by the gang to carry out killings. He also has two daughters, named Dawn and Fawn, who he sees a couple of times each year. He suffers from pediophobia, a fear of dolls. Tig was once in love with a woman that was killed when he laid his bike down on a HWY; she slid in front of oncoming traffic. Tig admits it was the one woman he really loved, and he had found out that she was pregnant after her death. Tig also reveals that he used to be raped by his father when he was younger. This is possibly the reason behind all of his strange paraphilias and violent behavior.

Tig was extremely loyal to Clarence "Clay Morrow, the club's former President, Clay's wife Gemma Teller Morrow, and the club itself. He had a strained love/hate relationship with former President, Jackson "Jax" Teller, arising from his use of violence in situations that may not call for it. His often callous demeanor hides a person with unlikely sensitivity and strong loyalty.

Season 1[]

"Pilot"[]

SAMCRO are heading to their warehouse which was blown up. Tig is accompanied by President, Clarence "Clay" Morrow, Vice President and his stepson, Jackson "Jax" Teller and Secretary Robert "Bobby Elvis" Munson. They drive to the site of their destroyed warehouse and after speaking to Vic Trammel, a corrupt sheriff, they learn quickly that the Mayans Motorcycle Club was responsible. Trammel explains to Clay that everyone knows about the explosion and it has drawn a lot of heat to the Sons. Jax counts out some cash and passes it to Trammel, telling him to make sure that the police report flies under the radar. SAMCRO goes to leave when Trammel shows them the bodies of two dead Mexican women, they were trapped in the explosion and killed. Trammel also brings up the partnership with the One-Niners, a street gang that the Sons are affiliated with, Jax hands Trammel some more cash and tells him to get a meet setup between the two.

Clay, Tig and Bobby ride to Oakland to meet with Laroy Wayne, leader of the Niners. Clay is able to broker a deal and give the Sons a few more days to make the shipment of weapons.

Back at the clubhouse, Kip "Half-Sack" Epps, the club Prospect shows the club his ballbag, which contains only one ball, as the other was blown off by a landmine in Iraq. Clay tells Filip "Chibs" Telford to find Jax and inform him they are sitting at the table.

At the table, Clay lays out the situation, the club have one more day before Laroy brings his men to Charming. The Niners have a heroin shipment coming in and they need the guns for protection. Jax is adamant that a big problem is going to occur if the Mayans attempt to steal the Niners heroin with their own guns but an angry Clay shuts down the idea, saying it isn't going to happen. The club decide they are going to track down where the guns are and retrieve them, destroying the Mayans warehouse in the process. Bobby is going to be absent as he needs to go to Tahoe to deal with his ex-wives, he is the club's usual explosive expert. Clay suggests they bring in Harry "Opie" Winston, an on and off member of the club who has recently gotten out of prison after serving 9 years for. Jax insists that Opie is "leaning straight" but Clay tells him he doesn't care, Opie will have to help them.

At the table, the club go over the situation with the Nordics, a white supremacist gang and their plan to retrieve their guns. They are joined at the table by Opie, and Happy Lowman, a member of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Tacoma charter. Piermont "Piney" Winston, Opie's father and co-founder of the club speaks up and congratulates Jax on the birth of his son, and they are all here for him if they need him.

The following day, Clay, Jax, Bobby and Tig meet with Ernest Darby, leader of the Nords. They present him with a gun as a get well soon present for Izzy, a member of his crew that Jax assaulted. A fight almost breaks out in the diner when Darby mocks Jax's sick son. Clay reminds Darby that they do not deal in Charming, Darby tries to reason saying that the Nords kept Opie safe on the inside but Clay doesn't care. They aren't in prison anymore and SAMCRO control everything. Darby says he is sure they can continue peaceful existence as SAMCRO leave.

Later that day, the club put the finishing touches to their plan to raid the Mayan warehouse and retrieve their guns. Clay is impressed with the club's work.

The club hit the Mayan warehouse and are able to locate their guns, they work on wiring the place up with explosives when Mayans arrive. They stay quiet as Jax and Clay head out to deal with the problem. They argue about what should be done as Clay insists on blowing the warehouse up but Jax isn't so sure, not wanting to start a war with the Mayans. Clay says that they would be long gone if it wasn't for the delay with the explosives which is ultimately Jax's fault, not believing his story about Opie having to take his daughter to the hospital. They are able to outmanoeuvre the Mayans which ends with Clay and Tig both killing one and Jax being left to execute the last one. Suddenly, he is shot in the back but is able to return fire and hit his attacker, the last remaining Mayan attempts to draw a knife from his belt and finish off Jax, but he is gunned down by Clay. SAMCRO check the bodies of the deceased, realising one if a Nordic, meaning the Mayans and the Nords have a new partnership. The club put the finishing touches to their explosive work and detonate the Mayans warehouse.

"Seeds"[]

Clay announces that the gun deal with the Niners has finally gone through, giving the club a decent chunk of change. Juice soon arrives and says that Deputy Chief David Hale has a warrant to search one of the Sons' warehouses where they store guns

Clay receives a call from Chief Wayne Unser, the corrupt police chief of Charming who has had history with the Sons for many years. He has asked the Sons to do a protection run on a truck of stolen goods for him. Clay mentions it to Tig as he walks past but suspects something isn't right. Tig admits to Clay that he had been having sex with the two dead Mexicans at the warehouse, meaning his DNA is inside both of them. Clay tells him that if they get hold of the bodies and Tig's subsequent DNA, they are in a lot of trouble. Tig insists that he can get rid of the bodies but Clay reminds him that Hale isn't going to take his eyes off the warehouse.

Inside Church, the club are planning what to do after Clay and Tig admitted that Clay had been having sex with the two dead Mexicans at the warehouse. Juice and Jax theorise that Hale is going to borrow a forensic team for the Lodi PD. Otto "Big Otto" Delaney, an imprisoned member of SAMCRO's sister works for the Lodi PD and perhaps she can let SAMCRO know if a forensic team is coming their way. Clay says that he is going to speak to Unser and see if he can get Hale to back down.

Back in Church, Juice explains that the forensic team will be in Charming tomorrow. Clay says the only way to stop them is to divert their attention with another murder. Jax is unsure, saying that Hale is already on high alert and it could bring more trouble with the Nords and the Mayans. Clay insists they need to do it to protect Tig and Jax eventually relents. Tig says they should kill some Nords and Clay agrees. Tig leaves to go and set things up but Jax stops him. He says he has a plan to fix their issue without killing anyone. He says they should call in a favour with Skeeter, an undertaker who can easily be bought out; Jax states that all they need is a body and a crime scene for a murder, of which they can fabricate. Clay agrees, telling Jax to not make him regret going with his plan.

Clay, Bobby, Opie and Tig head out to do the protection run for Unser. Clay has another things on his mind however, telling Unser's driver to change the route. Clay later betrays Unser, instead selling his cargo to Jimmy Cacuzza, an Italian mobster who the Sons work closely with, to ensure he doesn't attempt to partner with anyone else.

The following day, Clay confronts Unser, he tells him if he doesn't step down for another six months, he will make sure that his trucks keep going smoothly. He also needs to keep Hale out of SAMCRO's way.

With Hale now out of the way, Tig and Bobby get rid of the Mexican women's bodies.

"Fun Town"[]

The club are at a local carnival. They briefly cross paths with Elliott Oswald, a local business man with whom the club have some history with. His wife, Karen, is less than pleased to see Clay and the club, knowing they are bad news.

As Tig, Jax and Bobby walk through the carnival, they walk past some white muscle, wondering if they are Nords. They briefly stop to play a dunk tank game, the clown talks a little too much trash and it ends in the three nearly drowning him.

The club regroup that evening to meet the True IRA for a gun deal, whilst they wait, Clay asks everyone's opinion on Half-Sack's prospect period. Everyone is in agreement that Half-Sack is doing an amazing job and is an asset to the club. Clay calls him over as their shipment arrives. Disassembled guns inside of oil barrels. Michael McKeavey, the driver of the truck and IRA member is frustrated to hear that the Sons won't be placing another order with the IRA for a few months whilst they recover from the warehouse fire. McKeavey says they have no choice but to look for another buyer.

Elliott drives in to the lot, demanding to speak with Clay.

Later in Church, the rest of the club learn about Oswald's situation. His 13 year old daughter was raped and beaten the previous night, and he wants SAMCRO to find the perpetrator. Some members of the club are unsure about assisting Oswald as he has no real affiliation to SAMCRO and it isn't their business. Clay is able to rally the troops however, and everyone is in agreement they will assist Oswald. The club believe that the Nords are a good place to start to try and find the rapist.

Hale has arrived at TM, as the Sons were at the carnival last night, he wants to take statements from all of them. Clay is frustrated as it will take a few hours, but Hale insists.

Tig arriving at Teller-Morrow

The club soon begin to grow impatient, eventually figuring out that the cops are just there to waste time whilst Hale tries to find the rapist. Jax, Tig and Clay plan to subdue the cops so they can keep hunting. Tig spikes the coffee pot and offers some more to the cops, they drink it and are soon out cold.

Unable to find Darby, the club are frustrated, Juice comes through with a lead however, a Nord who has served time for sex crimes who was at the carnival the previous night. Gemma calls, telling Clay that Darby is at St. Thomas hospital. Clay, Tig and Bobby head to St. Thomas whilst Juice is told to prepare the guns for the deal later. Tig also hands him some "vitamins" which Juice scoffs down.

The Sons soon arrive and Darby speaks with Clay, Bobby and Tig. He assumes it is due to the recent rape of a young girl. Darby assures the Sons the Nords have nothing to do with it. Clay mentions a name, Johnny Yates. Darby tells him he is no longer affiliated with the Nords after having his nose broken by Whistler. The Sons mock Darby about the disappearance of Whistler, all but confirming they had something to do with it. Clay convinces Darby to give up some intel on Yates just as Hale arrives. Clay tells them to speak to Trammel to try and find Yates' whereabouts.

The club briefly return to the clubhouse to pick up some of the AK's Juice was handling, unable to find him, they leave without him to confront Yates. They find where Yates is supposed to be, a large house out in the woods with armed guards outside. They attempt to arm up, but find the AK's have no magazines inside of them.

The club subdue the guards and breach the house, where they stumble upon a church group. After speaking to Yates, they realise that he is a changed man and is not the rapist. The club extend their apologies and quickly leave.

Back at the clubhouse, they find Juice unconscious, having eaten all of Tig's pills. Clay says he wants something very special for Juice after his mistake.

Tig getting orders from Clay

Jax returns to the clubhouse with the identity of the rapist, the club return to the carnival and beat up the carnival workers, finally finding the rapist. They escort him to the woods and hold him until Oswald arrives. Oswald arrives with a blade and demands they remove the rapist's trousers. As Clay oversees, he reminds Oswald they had a deal, he must deliver the justice himself. Oswald drops the blade, unable to do it, he quickly flees the scene.

Clay gloves up and does the job himself, castrating the rapist. He passes Jax the blade as they realise it was all about blackmail, they have Oswald's prints on a murder weapon and now they can use it as leverage when they want to do business with him in the future.

"Patch Over"[]

The club are concerned to learn the ATF is in Charming. Clay states that they don't even know the reason an agent is there, none of SAMCRO have had any legal trouble in over five years. Jax theorises that Hale is responsible as he knew the warehouse was theirs and wasn't able to follow through on it. The club realise they need to get their guns off the property. Jax suggests calling in a favor with "Jury" White, President of the Devil's Tribe Motorcycle Club, an allied MC out in Nevada. The club agree Jax and Bobby will go by themselves.

Half-Sack tells Tig that Gemma gives him a "MILF chubby". Half-Sack isn't aware that Clay is standing right behind him, he says nothing as Half-Sack stammers to change the subject as Clay walks away.

Clay speaks to Half-Sack, Tig and Juice, he states that Devil's Tribe will be patching over to join the Sons. He says the whole club is going up there with their gun supply. Tig is however, devastated to learn that he will be staying at the clubhouse as he needs to drive the guns up after an agreement is made with Jury. Tig notes that Devil's Tribe have some great women.

Tig and Juice head to steal one of Unser's trucks to use to transport the guns. They give the guard dog some drugs as Tig voices how upset he is to not be getting pussy in Nevada. The dog skulks off and the pair enter and head towards Unser's truck. Suddenly, the dog turns feral and charges at the pair, they sprint to the truck and Tig is bitten by the dog. Tig is furious as Juice admits he fed the dog crank.

The following morning, Tig and Juice finally make it to Nevada, Tig is devastated to learn that they missed the party as he sees various women draped over his brothers.

The following morning Clay receives a call from Jax, telling him that Mayans are on their way to Indian Hills, the club arm up and prepare to fight.

The club are able to hold off the Mayans without any real casualties.

"Giving Back"[]

At the table, Clay and Jax propose a deal bought to them by Otto "Big Otto" Delaney, an imprisoned member of SAMCRO and a man he has been protecting inside, Charles "Chuckie" Marstein, a former associated of the Lin Triad who hustled them for $400,000. Chuckie wants protection in exchange for SAMCRO getting cut in on the deal. Jax explains that they will split the money with Chuckie, 25% to the club, 25% for Otto which will go to Luann Delaney, his wife. Everyone is in agreement of the deal, despite Bobby explaining it will be dangerous as Henry Lin, the leader of the Lin Triad is ruthless.

Clay brings one more item to the table, April Hobart, a SAMCRO associate has asked for her ex-husband Kyle Hobart to attend Gemma's Taste of Charming fundraiser being held tomorrow. Kyle was excommunicated from SAMCRO after letting Opie get arrested nearly 10 years ago. There is some disagreement but Opie is surprisingly happy to allow Kyle to come, stating that Kyle has nothing left in his life after being kicked out of the club and his family leaving him. There is some disagreement but the vote eventually passes.

The club at the charity event learn from Clay that they are going to pick up the Chinese money right now, Opie and Kyle head back to the clubhouse whilst Jax, Tig and Bobby link up with the rest of the club.

On their way out they run in to Gemma. Jax inquires about a man watching them from another stall, the club learn from Gemma that he is Agent Josh Kohn, the ATF agent responsible for the club's recent heat. Jax also says that he was at the hospital the previous night, watching him with Abel. Jax tells Gemma to call him if he follows the club as they leave.

The club make their way to the Chinese restaurant with Chuckie in tow. Jax, Clay and Chuckie head inside and are able to find a bag of cash, they exit and quickly realise a number of other third parties have turned up and are interested in their findings, they pile in to the van and prepare to leave when they are boxed in from all angles as gunshots start flying. In the back of the van everyone hits the floor, inspecting the bag closer, Clay realises that their ill gotten gains aren't quite as lucrative as described. The cash in the bag is minimal and contains plates used for counterfeiting. Clay emerges from the van as Triad members aim guns at SAMCRO. Clay shows them the bag and says he wants to speak to Lin. Lin approaches and explains he is only interested in the plates. Clay and Lin are quickly able to strike a deal, on account of the cops about to show up, the club get $60,000 for the plates and Clay will even throw in Chuckie free of charge for his deceit. Chuckie yells for his life as Bobby hands him over to the Triads.

Back at the clubhouse, the club lure Kyle in to the garage at the prospect of showing him Bobby's vintage motorcycle. As the club circle him, Kyle quickly realises that there is no such things to speak of. Jax demands Kyle remove his shirt, he refuses and Bobby and Tig wrestle it off him, revealing his large SAMCRO back tattoo. Kyle begs for forgiveness, saying it is the only part of the club he still has left. Clay coldly asks Kyle if he would prefer fire or a knife to remove the ink. Kyle accepts his fate and says fire. The club string him up on a car lift as Tig lights a blowtorch, Jax gives Kyle a drink of some whiskey before Jax douses his back in it.

"Old Bones"[]

At the clubhouse. Half-Sack is boxing with Lowell Harland Jr. a mechanic at TM and a recovering drug addict. The club scheme on entering Half-Sack in a bare knuckle boxing circuit to win some big money for the club to help pay the Irish. Jax tells Bobby and Chibs to train Half-Sack, take $50k and triple it. Half-Sack is now on a strict diet of no weed, booze, or pussy. Clay also tells Bobby to try it on with Cherry, Half-Sack's girlfriend, get Half-Sack real angry for his fights. Jax also informs Tig and Clay that Charming are investigating some bodies that were found on i44 earlier today. Clay says nothing and leaves, confusing Jax.

The trio head to the dig site where Clay and Tig confess that the bodies are the doings of SAMCRO many years ago.

At the table, the club discuss the bodies that were found, to the newer members of the club. Clay explains they are Mayan bodies, if they get ID'd it could bring heat back to the club. They need to stop the bodies getting ID'd or trouble could be brewing.

Half-Sack is informed that he will be boxing for $15k for the Sons. Clay has put him on a diet of no drink, drugs or Cherry, much to Half-Sack's dismay. Cherry will also be staying with Bobby until the fight is over, an agreement neither Half-Sack or Cherry are happy about.

Jax and Tig make their way to St. Thomas to deal with the bones which are being kept their overnight, they don't find Tara and opt to steal another doctor's ID badge to get to the basement. Tig is tasked with distracting the doctors which he does by pulling down his pants and showing the dog bite he obtained whilst he and Juice were stealing Unser's truck.

In the basement, Clay and Tig get to work on sorting the bones when Jax suddenly arrives. He insists there was no interference to run and he has come to assist. They begin to pull the teeth from the skulls when Jax realises that the bodies have already been ID'd. One of them belongs to Lowell Harland Sr., Lowell's father. The three stare at each other and Jax realises that Clay and Tig already knew exactly who they were going to find down there.

Tig tells Clay and Gemma that Lowell has disappeared, he is going to ring rehab clinics and hope to find him.

At Half-Sack's fight night, the fights keep coming and Half-Sack dominates them all. Just before his final fight begins, Chibs and Tig drop the bomb that Half-Sack has to lose, everyone is betting on him, the heavy favourite to win, he will net the club a gigantic payday if he takes a dive.

Clay arrives at Half-Sack's boxing match. He tells Tig to call Neeta, she is going to be watching Lowell's son for a while. Half-Sack is supposed to take a dive in the next round and win the Sons a big payday. Clay then sits with Cherry, she tells him she isn't interested in Bobby, only in Half-Sack. Clay tells Cherry that she is more than welcome to stick around if Half-Sack patches in. This earns him a kiss on the cheek from Cherry, who is grateful for his kindness. Half-Sack sees this and quickly becomes enraged. Clay stands and yells out for Half-Sack to drop but he pummels his opponent knocking him out. Clay rushes up and apologises to Bobby, Chibs and Tig, admitting it is his fault Half-Sack acted out. The club bail before things get out of hand.

Half-Sack apologises to Clay, Clay sarcastically remarks that at least he got the girl. He does however owe the club $35k according to Chibs.

Tig gets in the van with Clay and Tig realises that Lowell is in the back, very much alive. Clay tells Tig that he is a good mechanic, not wanting to show his true affection for the young man he watched grow up.

"The Pull"[]

At the table, the club have almost pulled together enough money for the IRA guns, they are very close to the $200k they need. The club briefly discuss the various ways they have pooled together the money before Clay announces they can get the remaining money from Luann, if Gemma talks to her first. She is making a lot of money from the porn industry. Jax also announces that his son is getting out of the hospital today, the club are excited and pleased for Jax.

Jax returns to the clubhouse and informs the club of his crank discovery, he assisted at a roadside accident and discovered the drugs on the driver, he suspects it is the Nords. Juice confirms if it definitely Nord product and Tig says they should teach Darby a lesson. Jax says that he and Opie will go and speak to the driver of the truck and see what he has to say about the meth. Clay says that Luann is also fronting the club $55k, meaning they only need $15k more by the end of the day. Chibs tells Half-Sack that if he ever wants to get patched in, he needs to find them the remaining money.

At the clubhouse, the club mock Half-Sack for stealing an ambulance, claming they can easily sell it for $100k. When asked where he can sell it to, he isn't able to answer, realising the many flaws in his plan. The club laugh at Half-Sack's expense and Clay tells Chibs to get rid of the ambulance after dark. Jax soon arrives, he briefly wonders why there is an ambulance in the garage but upon learning Half-Sack is responsible, he asks no further questions. Clay asks if Jax was able to learn anything from the truck driver, to which he quickly tells them about how he learned the Nords are dealing crank in Pope, where the driver fills up his tanker with diesel, Opie and Jax stole the tanker, and Jax flipped it to Unser at a cheap price. Meaning they now have enough money for the IRA.

Tig and Clay head to meet with the IRA, Jax also learns from Gemma who has just arrives that Abel is coming out of incubation. They split as Tig and Clay make their way to the bar.

At the bar, they briefly speak to the barman who says that McKeavey isn't here, but his cousin, Cameron Hayes is. He assures them he is with the IRA and if he is in the US, he must have something pretty important to say. Tig and Clay sit with Cameron where he informs them that McKeavey is dead. He was killed under orders of Brenan Hefner, the corrupt port commissioner, McKeavey refused to pay him more money and had his goons kill him. The Sons offer to help take care of Hefner but Cameron insists it is personal. He goes to count the money the Sons presented him with to continue their business arrangement.

As the trio drink to McKeavey's life and the Sons and IRA partnership, the bar is attacked, bullets begin to fly as Cameron is shot in the leg whilst the barman is able to put down one of the attackers. As Clay and Tig get their bearings, they realise that Cameron has been shot and is bleeding badly. Tig says they have to get him to a hospital but Cameron says he is wanted in four continents, he cannot go to a hospital. Tig also learns that the attackers were Mayans, meaning the war is very much on.

Chibs, Juice, Jax, Opie and Half-Sack soon arrive after hearing of what went down. The barman says he will take care of the Mayan body whilst the rest of the club get Cameron back to the clubhouse, in Half-Sack's very convenient ambulance.

Outside the bar, Clay, Jax, Tig and Opie talk. Tig says that Alvarez has to have learned about the IRA from Darby, the Mayans and the Nords have teamed up like he predicted weeks ago after the Sons blew up the Mayan warehouse. Tig says they need to get more charters involved and wipe out the Nords and the Mayans for good. Opie and Tig are in agreement. Jax isn't sure, saying SAMCRO aren't ready for a war, they have no cash and no gun surplus, and the ATF is still on their tail. Jax asks Tig and Opie to step away whilst he talks to Clay. Jax tells Clay that he knows he thinks he is distracted and not committed but he isn't he risked his life earlier to get $15k for the club. Jax assures Clay that he is now seeing a bigger picture but his commitment hasn't changed and he is never afraid to get bloody. Clay walks back over to Tig and Opie, saying that dealing with Alvarez it is going to cause an all out war. Opie and Juice need to get in contact with other charters and get their President and Vice President in Charming tomorrow.

As everyone else departs, Tig tells Clay that he doesn't trust Jax and doesn't think he can do what needs to be done when it comes down to it.

Back at the clubhouse, Chibs says that they need real medical tools or Cameron will die, the bullet hit an artery and it being lodged inside of him is the only thing stopping him from bleeding out. Gemma soon arrives and is relieved to see everyone in one piece; Clay informs her that other charters are coming down and the clubhouse needs to be stocked. Jax says that he will speak to Tara and see what medical equipment she can assist them in getting.

That night at the clubhouse, Gemma and Clay watch on as Tig and Opie prepare weapons for the inevitable war.

"Hell Followed"[]

At the clubhouse, Gemma is concerned as they haven't been able to locate Jax last night and today, Gemma wants to try and find him but Clay tells her to stay put. Piney and Opie agree to ride to St. Thomas to see if he may be there. Chibs then enters to inform Clay that he and Juice are still patching up Cameron, but Chibs is concerned he may have sepsis.

Unser arrives at the Sons' clubhouse and informs Clay he needs to bring him down to the station to ask him a few questions, someone made an attempted hit on Darby last night. Unser also says that he found two dead bodies that belonged to Mayans so he knows the Sons have something to do with it, Clay doesn't seem to be too interested in what Unser has to say but he is insistent. Clay walks Unser over to the meeting room in the clubhouse and swings open the door, inside Unser sees Juice and Chibs doing a makeshift operation on a bloody man. Unser is stunned as Clay tells him that the man is a friend and Juice and Chibs are trying to dig bullets out of the man that were meant for Clay; fired by Mayans. Meaning they went after him too so he had nothing to do with Darby. Clay admits that the Mayans were him but they are out of Charming. Unser says the bodies are probably going to bring ATF Agent June Stahl back and Clay must come down to the station with him.

Chibs and Juice continue to work on Cameron, eventually being able to pull one of the slugs from him causing a fountain of blood to spray out of the wound. Tig and Gemma rush in before the pair swiftly leave the clubhouse.

Tig and Gemma first try Tara's house and are able to find Jax there, realising that he stayed the night with Tara whilst the club were waiting on the medical supplies for Cameron angers both Tig and Gemma. Jax insists that the club will always be his priority before riding off with the supplies.

At the table, Clay addresses SAMCRO and the other charters who have come down. He states that what happened the previous night can never happen again, no more bodies can drop in Charming. Tig speaks up and says that SAMCRO did not attempt to kill the Nords, it was Alvarez who tried to kill Clay and Darby. However, if they retaliate, war is certain. Clay admits that he sat down with Alvarez, causing shock to ripple across the table. Clay says that he made a deal with Alvarez, the Sons will sell guns to the Mayans and all beefs will be ended, in Charming and out of state, no Sons will have issues with Mayans anymore. Juice enquires about the Sons deal with the Niners and selling guns to them, but Jax insists they have no real loyalty to the Niners and they also buy guns from other sources. Bobby admits he has concern that a deal with the Mayans could trigger something else with the Niners. Tig says that the Mayans still tried to kill him but Clay says that debt will be settled too, by another charter, he asks if Happy will do the deed and he of course agrees. The club vote on the deal and the majority are on board.

As the peace celebration rages on, another matter is bought to the rest of the club by Juice and Chibs. Cameron has stated that Hefner needs to die before Monday, or the most recent gun shipment will be taken. Cameron has offered the inital payment back and a free month of guns if SAMCRO handle it. The club briefly debate it but realise the pros outweigh the cons and the hit must be done. Opie is quick to step up, insisting that he can get it done. Clay agrees, Jax, Opie and Bobby are to carry out the hit.

"Better Half"[]

At the table, the club, joined by Unser who has been kicked out of his office to make way for the ATF discuss the recent return of Stahl. So far she has had Luann arrested on drug charges and Cherry on theft and arson. Unser says that Stahl is trying to use the RICO act to bring down the club, which will affect all of them, hence why he is sitting at the table. Jax says that Tara will never turn on the club and they have nothing to worry about regarding her. Bobby says that they can't get through to Otto, they have him on federal watch and he isn't allowed any phone calls. Jax theorises that Stahl is pressing Otto for history and using Luann as leverage. The club begin to grow concerned, knowing that Otto would do anything for Luann and Cherry also knows a lot of information about Indian Hills. The club devise a plan to use Unser and get Jax and Opie in to the police station to pass a message to Luann to warn Otto about Stahl using the RICO act, as the pair will most likely be allowed to see each other as some sort of leverage deal. They will also work on finding out where Cherry is. Clay, running out of ideas quickly agrees to Jax's plan, as does everyone else.

Looking to cause a distration to get the remaining cops out of the station, Piney, Bobby and Tig head to a bar in Charming. Piney and Tig both head to seperate tables and begin to cause commotion between the patrons, one of them approaches Tig after Piney says that Tig said something about his daughter and Tig quickly punches the man across the face. All hell breaks loose as chaos erupts in the bar, the trio return to the bar to continue drinking.

At the clubhouse the club make plans to get Cherry, who was unexpectedly rescued from the police station by Jax the previous night and Cameron out of the country. They will use one of Unser's trucks with electronics on board to make it look legit. Happy will drive the truck. Happy tells Clay that his mother is unwell and he is most likely going to leave the Tacoma charter and go Nomad so that he can spend more time with her. Clay tells Happy there is always a seat at the SAMCRO table if he wants it. Unser notes that Happy "seems like a nice fella", causing Clay to spit out his shot of whisky.

"Capybara"[]

Clay receives a call from the SAMCRO lawyer, he announces that Luann is clear of any charges, but Otto isn't. In a final meeting with Stahl, he attacked her, smashing her face in to a table and breaking her nose, proving he is loyal to the club. The celebration is very short lived as suddenly Juice sees an army of armed police at the front door of the clubhouse, within seconds Stahl has strutted in as the club are forced to the floor. Bobby is grabbed and told he is under arrest for the murder of Hefner.

At the table, the club is very concerned about Bobby being arrested, Jax insists he is sure there was no witness and nobody could've seen them carrying out the murder. The club notice the mysterious absence of Opie and minds begin to race as Tig states that only two other people saw the murder, one is in jail and the other is in the wind. This causes Jax to jump to his feet as he and Tig almost begin to fight at Tig's accusation. Piney also steps up, saying Opie isn't here is because he doesn't know what is going on. Jax heads out to find him.

Juice arrives to speak to Clay and Tig with some disturbing news, he has just checked out Opie's bank records and seen that a large chunk of his debt has been paid off with a federal wire transfer. Clay tells Juice to not say a word to anyone else about his discovery. Juice is sent away and Tig immediately jumps to the conclusion that Opie sold Bobby out but Clay isn't so fast, saying that it could be a con from Stahl to make the club believe Opie did.

Jax speak with Clay and Tig, he tells them what he has learned and is then shown a copy of Opie's financial records, showing that his debt has been paid off by federal wire transfer. Jax immediately says that it is a setup but Tig still isn't convinced, he theorises that the ATF has been chipping away at Opie ever since he got out of prison and this is their big offer, to give him a new debt-free life in exchange for the club.

The following day, Jax receives word that Opie has left the federal facility and wants to speak to the club about what happened, Clay assures Jax that Opie will be allowed to say his piece and no harm will come to him. Clay and Tig then leave to speak to the SAMCRO lawyer about Bobby.

Tig and Clay meet with Rosen, Rosen tells them that the US attorney won't disclose the names of the witness to Hefner's killing. Rosen continues saying that Stahl spoke to Bobby and knows that Jax was also at the hit, but Bobby says that whoever saw him could never have seen Jax who was driving the getaway car. Only Opie could've possibly known and must have ratted, Rosen theorises that Opie was released to get further information on the killing to seal the deal and he is probably wired up.

Jax meets up with Opie as the pair are going to travel to the clubhouse to clear Opie's name. They arrive at the clubhouse and everyone is happy to see Opie, they head in to Church. Clay sends Tig outside to scan Opie's truck and phone for bugs as Rosen suggested. Tig scans Opie's truck and phone, he finds listening devices in both of them and dumps Opie's phone in a mug of beer, he then steps in to Church. Opie has finished saying his piece and all seems to be well, he asks if he is good with the club and Clay confirms it, everyone heads out except for Tig and Clay. Tig delivers the devastating news that Opie's phone and truck were both wired, he has turned on the club. Clay says that they need to vote on it but Tig says they don't need to, the pair of them can handle it quietly and nobody will ever find out. They are going to kill Opie. Jax enters the room and Clay says he was just telling Tig what Opie said as Tig quickly exits.

"The Sleep of Babies"[]

Tig and Clay finalise their plan to kill Opie today, they note that they need to be careful as he is probably wired up.

At the table, Clay expresses concern about the club's current lack of cash. If they need to fund Bobby's legal defense, they are in trouble. He suggests selling the club's personal gun surplus to the Mayans and there is a level of disagreement. Clay says that if they sell the Mayans the guns, it will appear as a goodwill gesture and they will get a good payout. Jax protests but Clay admtis he is out of ideas. They formulate a plan and will do the deal in two separate locations, Tig and Opie drop off the guns in one location and Jax and Clay pick up the cash in another. Piney wants in also but Clay refuses, causing Piney to angrily storm out of Church. Tig and Clay are going to use the separation as a chance for Tig to kill Opie.

Clay and Tig meet with Laroy. Clay tells Laroy that he is going to sell some guns to the Mayans and explains the details of the deal. Clay wants Laroy to help him in killing Alvarez and he gets the guns and money for himself, he also tells Laroy that he knows he has been buying guns from the Russians for a big price markup. Laroy is evidently intertested, asking what type of weapons, the pair shake on it with Clay telling Laroy to ensure SAMCRO is clear before the bodies start dropping. As Clay and Tig walk away, Tig admits to Clay he is unsure of his plan but Clay insists they can use the chaos to kill Opie and make it look like a casualty of gang violence.

Tig and Opie drive to the gun drop off, they discuss their families and Tig tells Opie that he only sees his daughters twice a year, it used to be hard for him but not so much nowadays. They enter the warehouse and meet with Mayans to collect the money when Niners burst in and start shooting, Tig is caught in a dead end and is almost shot when Opie appears and saves Tig's life, killing his attacker, Opie turns away and Tig takes aim, unable to pull the trigger he and Opie bail from the warehouse.

Everyone regroups at the clubhouse as Tig, Clay, Jax and Opie discuss that both parties were jumped by Niners at their collection points. The club are in a real rough spot with no money and no guns. Jax and Opie head out as Jax needs to pick Abel up from the hospital. Tig and Clay discuss Laroy's double-cross of them and Tig lies to Clay, telling him that he couldn't get a clear shot on Opie. They make another plan, imagining the Niners take their rage to Charming after seeing Opie's truck and gun him down in a drive-by. Clay tells Tig it is their last chance and it has to be tonight after Jax's party.

At Abel's coming home party, Opie, Donna Winston and his family prepare to leave, Tig and Clay make eye contact as Tig knocks back his drink and quickly leaves, preparing to get ahead of Opie's truck to take him out. He drives off and swaps to a car and waits until he sees Opie's truck driving past, he tails it from a distance and dons a balaclava, driving alongside and unloading a few bullets in to the back window of the truck, he drives past to confirm the kill. Tig is utterly horrified to see Donna slumped over the dash with bullets in her head. Tig speeds away from the scene as people look on.

With news of a shooting, SAMCRO race downtown, they find Donna dead. Opie arrives at the traffic lights where he sees the bloodied corpse of Donna, he drops to his knees and sobs as he holds her. Chibs and Jax drag him away.

Tig is later seen in his apartment with a bloodied face, he has put his head through a mirror, beside himself with grief and anguish over what happened to Donna.

"The Revelator"[]

At the table tensions run high for obvious reasons. Clay tells the table that he is responsible, organising the deal with the Mayans that led to Donna's demise, others speak up and say they all agreed on the deal. Piney says they track down Laroy and kill him and becomes enraged at Clay, saying if it happened to him there would be instant retaliation, Piney leaves and Jax goes after him.

Rosen drops by to speak to SAMCRO, he says the name of the witness is being released and the ATF is presenting evidence agaisnt Opie for his part in the murder of Hefner, he expects it to be a resident or neighbor that saw the hit and if Opie comes in, he probably won't be leaving again. Clay reminds Rosen that Donna'a funeral is tomorrow and Rosen says he will do what he can to delay and reminds Clay that his payment is due soon. The club decide they need to deal with the witness before they can testify against Opie or Bobby. They realise the witness is under watch 24/7 and it will not be easy getting to them. The club agree they will contact Trammel to try and get information about safehouses in San Joaqiun. Jax receives a call from a frantic Half-Sack who has been tailing Piney, he tells Jax that Piney is heading in to a Niners bar, probably looking for Laroy, another issue for SAMCRO's ever growing list of problems. Jax and Chibs head out to retrieve him whilst Tig, Juice and Clay go and speak to Trammel.

The trio track down Trammel and he is so taken aback by their request for trying to kill a federal witness he actually laughs at them, telling them no amount of money would be enough. Clay lays it out for Trammel, if the witness lives, they all go down, including their associates, meaning him. Trammel all but agrees, telling them they will need a case number and the witness name will not be enough.

They try Oswald, believing him to have insider information, Clay threatens Oswald with the knife that has his prints on that killed the carnival worker months ago, saying it would be a slam dunk case against Oswald. Oswald wants to know what Clay wants, he explains he needs information that judges would have access to.

They hang around at Oswald's ranch and Tig tells Clay that he had the opportunity to kill Opie yesterday at the warehouse when the Niners attacked but couldn't do it. Tig laments saying he could only shoot through the truck window because he couldn't see his face. Clay hugs Tig, telling him that he puts so much on him and forgets how much it must affect him sometimes. Clay assures Tig they will get past it. Juice and Oswald soon return with the case number they are looking for. Juice says that he called Happy who knows an "alarming" about about safehouses and witnesses, Juice explains what Happy said about security and Tig jumps in saying that he, Chibs and Happy will do the hit, assuring Clay he will be fine. Juice is ordered to get the case number to Trammel and find that safehouse as soon as possible.

Tig, Chibs and Happy head to the safehouse, they immobilise the cops outside and break in, the trio are shocked to find a young girl inside, she is the witness. Happy says that he will kill the girl but Tig steps up, saying he must do it, he escorts the terrified girl when suddenly Jax arrives and tells Tig to put the gun down. Tig refuses, raising his gun to the girl's head and Jax counters by doing the same to Tig, saying he will kill him. Jax tells Happy and Chibs to get out, angering the pair, saying this wasn't part of the plan. They leave. Jax takes the blindfold of the girl and makes her look at Tig, saying that he won't be able to save her the next time, if she testifies then Tig will find her and kill her. Jax thrusts a wad of cash in to the girl's hand and tells her to leave California tonight, she flees. Jax and Tig begin to fight, brutalising each other in the safehouse, Tig strangely doesn't fight back too hard, allowing Jax to beat him relentlessly.

The following day, the club ride with Donna's funeral procession to the graveyard. Many associates, friends and family are also present. Jax arrives late, looking worse for wear, Tara stands and places his kutte on him, before kissing him passionately. Jax briefly pays his respects to Donna before taking off.

Rosen met with SAMCRO and told them that the ATF have put a warrant out for Opie's arrest and that he will most likely get convicted of Hefner's murder because of the witness. Tig went with Clay and Juice to meet with Vic Trammel and offered him money to reveal the location of the witness. Trammell didn't know, however, so they went to Elliott Oswald. They again blackmailed him with the knife that he used to kill the rapist earlier in the season, this time to get his friends in the US Attorney's office to tell him the witness' case number and location. Clay then sent Chibs, Happy and Tig to kill the witness, who was at a safe house in San Joaquin. Two sheriffs and a female ATF agent were guarding the house, but they managed to knock them unconscious and break in. Tig initially had doubts about killing the witness when he saw that she was a teenage girl, and Happy volunteered to do it instead, but he eventually stepped up to the task. However, just before he shot her, Jax came in and stopped him from doing it at gunpoint. Jax told Chibs and Happy to leave, and threatened the witness into leaving the state. He then beat Tig up for killing Donna.

Season One ended at Donna's funeral the next day, which was attended by Sons of Anarchy from all over the country. There, Jax, and the rest of SAMCRO, stared at each other, showing that the club was coming apart from the inside.

Season 2[]

Tig 3

In episode two, Tig is involved in a fight with bodyguards of a pornographer as the club becomes partners with Luann Delaney. The very end of the episode, the audience is specifically shown Tig watching Gemma intently. He adores Gemma and appears to perceive that there is something very wrong with her. Jax and Clay are very preoccupied with their own problems, and have not realized that a woman as strong as Gemma should not be so shocked and disturbed by a car crash. Gemma has told none of the SOA members that she was gang raped by the white separatist group L.O.A.N. (League of American Nationalists) so that Clay would not do anything rash. They all seem to believe the car crash story, except for Tig, who obviously suspects that someone did something terrible to her.

He is caught by bounty hunters for a warrant for him in Oregon for assault and public nudity. He is later rescued by Jax, Chibs, Happy, Half-Sack, and Piney. He is shown to feel remorse to some extent over accidentally killing Opie's wife Donna. In one scene, he attempts to reach out emotionally and comfort Opie by telling him about a beloved, pregnant girlfriend that he had lost years before. He shows sympathy again later in the Season 2 when the Lin Triad offer to give Chuck Marstein back to SAMCRO, but Clay refuses. Knowing that the Triads would just kill Chuck, Tig shows a sudden soft side and offers to help him and set him up as the bookkeeper at Luann's studio. Clay looks surprised, but lets it go.

In episode "Balm," Tig eats mushrooms and is seen in a field crying and apologizing to a small Native American doll. It could be inferred that he is apologizing to Donna.

In the episode "Service," the audience sees Tig in his deepest depression yet: while he was at the Morrow house getting guns, Gemma comes out in a bathrobe after her shower and says hello. Tig gives her an affectionate hug and a kiss. Gemma goes to a closet to get her guns to donate, reaching up to a top shelf. Tig offers to get the box down for her, but accidentally knocks it to the ground. While he is on his knees to pick up the fallen boxes, Gemma makes advances towards him, which he returns. They almost have sex, but after seeing a picture of Jax and Thomas as children at the beach, Tig refuses to do anything that might hurt Gemma or her family, presumably out of loyalty to both Gemma and Clay. Later in the episode, he also reveals to Opie that it was he who killed Donna after June Stahl set him up as a rat. Close to the end of "Service," he tells Clay that Gemma just needs to know her husband still wants her.

In the episode "The Culling," Tig is shown to have a bad relationship with Kozik, a member of the Tacoma chapter of the Sons of Anarchy. During the big fight at the end of the episode, he again showed his crazy side when he bit a member of A.J. Weston's gang on the face.

Season 3[]

Tig1

Tig and Kozik

To start season three, Tig has accompanied Gemma while she is on the run from the law. He escorts her to her dementia-addled father's home. While there, Tig has sex with his live-in caretaker, during which the man's dementia causes him to shoot Tig in the shoulder with a rifle, injuring but not killing him. Back in Charming, SAMCRO votes on whether or not to accept Happy and Kozik as members of SAMCRO. Everyone accepts Happy, but because of Tig's vote against him, Kozik can't transfer. This results in a fight between Tig and Kozik. Despite their dislike for each other, Tig and Kozik are able to work together when they successfully kill a possible snitch as a favor for the Mayans MC.

When Gemma escapes from police custody, Tig openly volunteers to not go to Belfast, so he can create a distraction for the police by having them chase him across county lines in a Teller-Morrow tow truck, so that the rest of SAMCRO can get to the airport. Tig is caught and imprisoned for his stunt, but is bailed out of county jail by Tara. Wayne Unser tells Tig that his driver's license will be suspended for two years, which may be good for Kozik, since a member can't vote if he can't ride for any reason. Since Clay and Jax are both in Belfast with most of SAMCRO trying to find Jax's son, Tig is in charge since he is one of Clay's lieutenants. However, he shows poor judgment when he leaves an untested prospect to protect one of the club's most loyal supporters, Lumpy.

Kozik says in the next episode that one of them is going to end up killed with Tig in charge. Despite the hate between them, they appear to grow closer. When Tara is kidnapped by Salazar and demands that club kills Marcus Alvarez, the leader of the Myans MC, and retrieve $250,000 from him, Kozik suggest they ask Alvarez to play dead for a day. Tig follows his play, because there was no other option. Alvarez agrees to play dead for a day, but they still need to get the money. When Stahl and Unser come wanting to help the club find Tara, Tig is less than willing to accept, because of law enforcement dragging their feet to find Abel. Tig accepts their help however, because they need the money to get Tara. When ATF gives the money for the ransom, Tig, following orders from Salazar, puts it into a trash can in the park. Kids on bicycles sees this and decides to steal it. Tig chases them down with the of undercover ATF agents, and is spotted by Salazar who drives away when he realizes that law enforcement is there. Stahl blames Tig, and Kozik tries to explain to her that Tig was only protecting the drop. Stahl still says it is Tig's fault things went wrong, and Tig tries to attack her, but is stopped and calmed down by SOA brothers. Knowing that Jax and the rest of SAMCRO will be back soon, Tig has no other choice than to call Jax and tell him what happened.

When the rest of the club gets back from Belfast, they begin to look for Tara, and it is seen that he and Kozik are acting friendly with each other. After Tara is safe, the club sits down to talk about a new business opportunity with the IRA. The IRA are prepared to give the SOA more guns to sell in exchange for killing Jimmy O'Phelan, the former street boss of the True IRA. However, because the most of SAMCRO is going to have to go to prison for the federal gun charges during one of their attacks on Zobelle, they have to vote to allow members to transfer. But some members will have to be voted in after they are in jail, so they need to vote one on right then and there and it had to be Kozik. Tig still can't find it in himself to get past their bad relationship.

Later Tig and Kozik talk. Tig tells Kozik to come back when he is in jail, and let the new SAMCRO member vote him in. Kozik doesn't want that, feeling it is the wrong thing to do, but he does stay and helps SAMCRO finish things, which Tig appreciates. It is revealed in the episode "June Wedding" that the root of conflict between the two is dog named Missy.

In the season finale, Tig is at a big celebration breakfast at the clubhouse. The club is trying to find a way to get their hands on Jimmy O. It is discovered that it will cost $2 million, which the club does not have. Chuck gives the club boxes of counterfeit money, where Tig is so happy about that he jokingly offers to lend Chuck his hand to masturbate. After the club get $250,000 to mask the fake money, they get Jimmy from the Russians. They go on a chase after the Russians realize the money is fake. After they take Jimmy back to the garage, ATF arrives and takes him into custody. It is then revealed that Jax has made a deal with Stahl. Tig shows great disgust to learn of the deal, and once the club are in a van to be taken to jail, Tig and the rest of SAMCRO give Jax a look of hatred and betrayal; but it is discovered that this was all an act and the deal was a trap orchestrated by the club to kill Stahl and Jimmy. When it is complete, the club laughs out of happiness for the end result.

Season 4[]

Tig spending time with his daughter

Tig is reunited with his daughter Dawn when she returns to Charming, with the seemingly noble cause of gathering $12,000 for her sick sister to go to rehab for bulimia, which is soon revealed to be a lie to get money for herself. He gives Dawn the money, despite being forewarned by Gemma and Bobby.

Vlcsnap-2012-09-12-19h58m37s14

Tig's final hug to his daughter before her death.

Tig begins to feel as if Clay doesn't trust him, as Clay stops wanting him on runs and starts shutting him out more. In the episode "Call of Duty", Tig questions Clay. Later, after Tig sees Gemma beat up by Clay, he turns in his Sergeant-at-Arms patch. He eventually confronts Clay with the fact that he has been shutting out and making decisions without their approval. In Burnt & Purged Away, Tig is shown to have apparently given up on Clay and SAMCRO, refusing Clay's request for "another guy with a gun" with obvious indifference. However, that night when Clay is gunned down by Opie, the members are told it was done by two black men. Tig, feeling remorse for turning his back on Clay, takes responsibility for what happened and seeks out Laroy for retaliation. In a nervous frenzy, he runs down Laroy as he is having dinner outside of a restaurant. Tig misses Laroy with the vehicle, instead hitting Laroy's date, Veronica Pope, the daughter of a dangerous gangster, Damon Pope. He is tailed by the Niners and Laroy, until the SOA meet up with him on the highway and help him escape. In "To Be, Act Two" (the Season 4 finale) Tig is seen sitting at Clay's hospital bedside, as he continues to feel remorse for what happened. He is comforted by Gemma, who walks in on him while he is confessing his guilt to an unconscious Clay. He briefly breaks down in her arms, believing himself to be partly responsible. At the end of the finale Jax steps in as President of the club and, appoints Chibs as the new Sergeant-at-Arms.

Season 5[]

While on an arms run for the IRA, the club is intercepted by a group of rogue Niners. The truck is flipped over and totaled. Luckily, the guns are saved, as is Phil, a new addition to the club, who was driving. Tig and the rest of SAMCRO delay retaliation in favor of meeting with Pope, as arranged by their contacts in the Galindo Cartel.

Tig, enraged, as he watches Dawn being burnt alive

The night after the meet with Pope's associate (and after being reassured that any beef between the gang and SAMCRO was settled) Tig gets a phone call about his daughter Dawn. He is informed that she was stopped on DUI charges in Oakland, but will be released if her father picks her up. Upon arriving in the same train yard where Pope was previously revealed to be hiding the dead body of Niner leader, Laroy, Tig realizes that he was set up. The police officer, actually a corrupt cop with Oakland PD, cuffs Tig to a pipe, giving him a few feet of chain, which allows him to move freely. When Pope shows up, he reveals that he learned Tig was driving the car that killed his daughter at the cafe. Pope then has his associates open up the oil pit, revealing Tig's daughter Dawn lying in the pit, unconscious. Pope's men begin pouring gasoline over the bodies in the pit, causing Dawn to wake up. She starts crying out for her father, as Tig tugs and pulls at his chain, screaming to be released and for Pope to kill him instead. Pope turns to Tig and says, "Know my pain, Mr. Trager", as he throws his cigar into the pit, lighting it on fire. Tig is forced to listen and watch as his daughter burns to death. When the fire is out, Pope leaves Tig and the corrupt cop behind to wait for a "cleaner" to come and sanitize the crime scene, after which the corrupt cop is supposed to take Tig to the police station. Before he leaves, however, Pope warns Tig not to mention anything about the incident to anyone unless he wants his other daughter to suffer, as well. When the "cleaner" arrives and enters the pit to begin disposing of the evidence and the corrupt officer is distracted, Tig manages to manipulate his chained wrists out from behind his back. Tig disables the corrupt cop with a quick, unexpected blow. He uses his chains to garrote the officer then uses the officer's sidearm to shoot the "cleaner" to death. Tig is last seen in the episode sobbing at the sight of his daughter's body.

Tig is later found by Jax, Chibs, and Bobby. They go to find Fawn to protect her from Pope. Following an altercation with a black man (later revealed to be Fawn's boyfriend) Tig believes is raping Fawn, Tig reveals what happened to Dawn. Fawn states that she hates him, but Jax convinces her boyfriend to get her out of town. The three are later arrested when witnesses, bought by Pope, identify Tig in Veronica Pope's murder, and Jax and Chibs in the highway shooting of one of the Niners. Opie meets them at the clubhouse and assaults Roosevelt, the new sheriff, so he can accompany them.

While the SOA's relationship with the Galindo cartel gives them protection from the black prison population, Jax later meets with Pope, who demands a dead Son for the cop and Niner they killed. Tig volunteers himself, but Jax reveals that Pope wants him to stay inside prison forever. Opie then punches the guard and is put into "the box" to fight to the death. The other three Sons watch as Opie is overwhelmed and beaten to death. Jax later tells Tig he talked to Pope, and he is coming out with them. When Tig thanks Him, Jax replies that now Tig must always back his deals and vote with him. Tig gives his word that he will. He is shown to have been good to his word, voting in Pope's offer to help them mule their cocaine, and the Club entering the "escort business" with Nero Padilla. In "To Thine Own Self", Clay meets with Tig, telling him he missed having him at his side and will always have a spot open for him. Tig refuses, stating that Clay broke up their friendship and leaves. When Jax reveals a new deal allowing the Club to leave the cartel by delegating the muling and gun-running to the Mayans and Triads respectively, Tig votes yes and is shown to have a new level of respect and admiration for Jax.

In the season finale, Jax takes Tig to a garage in the middle of nowhere to allow Pope to murder him per their deal. After Pope takes Tig inside to avoid any noise, Jax pulls out a silenced pistol and shoots Pope's men before cornering Pope in the garage. Jax then hands Tig the gun and tells him to "kill the man who burned your daughter alive". Pope warns them about what would happen to whoever kills him, but Tig shoots Pope twice in the head killing him and getting his revenge for Dawn's death. Jax then reveals the gun they used is Clay's and he will be framed for the murder. Right after this, Tig breaks down crying in Jax's arms, in final grief for his daughter. Tig is last seen at the clubhouse with his dog, laughing and in peace of mind.

After Bobby turned in his Vice President patch, it is hinted that the VP patch will go to Chibs, while the Sergeant-At-Arms patch will go back to Tig.

Season 6[]

Tig was passed over for the Sergeant at Arms position in favor of Happy. He is one of the Sons who helps shut down a torture porn studio. When he returns to cut the director loose, he threatens to put Tig's daughter in one of his movies. Tig loses his temper and drowns him in a tub of urine. At the end of the episode, he later drops the body in a cage into a bay. This later causes problems with his brother and their crew, but it is resolved by Jax. He remains a possible loose end as August tells Jax that once Clay is killed he needs to deliver Trager, a deal he already backed out of once. After settling the beef with the director's brother, Tig is told by Jax to go back to the warehouse and wait for the prospects to pick him up. At the end of the episode, he is met by August and his men.

The next episode shows Tig is okay and was merely told to deliver a message. He is shaken by the encounter and has doubts about his relationship with Jax. He later poses as Rat's father to feign interest in joining with a Neo-Nazi band who attacked Unser (showing his pain by relating how he watched "a bunch of n---rs burn his daughter alive"). They later return and wipe them out with KG-9's. He later aids Jax and SAMCRO in freeing and killing Clay as well as Galen. They then negotiate for August Marks to take over the gun business from the Irish. August states with this, Tig is clear of all trouble with his crew.

Season 7[]

In Season 7 Jax, after being voted to "meet Mr. Mayhem" for killing the SOA Indian Hills president, Jury White, hands over SAMCRO's presidency to Chibs, and Tig is promoted to Vice President.

Mayans M.C.[]

"When the Breakdown Hit at Midnight"[]

"What we do, it can get ugly. But it's what we do. Right? People sign up for fodder, I say feed 'em to the fuckin' cannon."
―Tig to Marcus Alvarez about the brewing SOA / Mayan War

Alexander 'Tig' Trager makes his return on Mayans MC with a guest appearance.

He visits SAMDINO Vice President, Terry Drakos whilst he is recovering in hospital after being shot by a group of Mayans members. Tig almost strangles Terry to death and yells at him for causing this war and bringing a dangerous and unhinged SAMDINO member, Isaac Packer back to the playing field.

Tig later reunited with Marcus Alvarez. Alvarez has since left the Mayans Oakland charter and is now President of the Santo Padre charter. They meet to discuss a truce between the Sons and the Mayans due to the ongoing war between the former allied clubs. Tig reveals the truth about the war to Alvarez. Montez was found dead on Mayan property dumped in a barrel. Alvarez claims to know nothing of this incident. Alvarez admits to Tig that he's been thinking about his son, Esai Alvarez a lot recently. Alvarez had Esai killed by SAMCRO member Happy, to bring peace between the Mayans and the Sons previously. Tig tells him that he shouldn't think of him anymore.

Alvarez attempts to ask Tig about his daughter, Dawn Trager who was burned alive by Damon Pope many years ago. Tig quickly cuts him off, not wanting to discuss the sensitive topic. Tig tries to explain to Alvarez that Esai bought everything on himself.

Tig tells Alvarez he will return to Charming and speak with Chibs about ending the war. Due to Alvarez having no knowledge about the death of Montez and how he wants peace. Alvarez reminds Tig that if peace is off the table, it is probably the last time they will meet in the manner they have. Tig sarcastically replies he's "Getting hard just thinking about it". The two allies embrace and Tig rides away.

The Prospect[]

Episode 1: Into the Breach[]

Sons2

Tig with SAMLIN prospect Jackoff

In Sons of Anarchy:The Prospect, Tig is going on a run to Tacoma with SAMLIN and distracted the local cop Janet Honeyhill while Clint Lancet, the son of former SAMLIN president Jolly Roger, sold a gun to his brother Duke, a SAMLIN prospect. When his bike starts acting up Clint offers to tune the engine and Tig is impressed and wonders why Clint isn't the prospect instead of Duke. He later sends a girl named Beatrice as a "gift" to Clint.

Trivia[]

  • After the episode “What a Piece of Work is Man”, Tig, along with Jax and Chibs, are the only remaining original members of SAMCRO from Season One. Juice was also alive until Red Rose, although he was excommunicated prior to the beginning of the final season and was thus not a member during it. By the show's end, he and Chibs are the only members left, due to Jax's suicide in the finale.
    • Likewise, he and Chibs are the only main cast members from season one to survive the series.
  • Tig was directly responsible for the death of Donna, and indirectly for the death of Opie, meaning that he is responsible for orphaning their children.
  • Tig has appeared in every episode of the show except for season one's "AK-51". If he had appeared in this episode, he would have been the second main character to appear in every episode in the show after Jax Teller.
  • Tig's kill count of 26 (24 during the series, two being shared with other members), 9 of which are named, is one of the highest in the series, second only to Jax. Ironically, Jax once despised Tig for his quick application of violence, and yet by the end of the series, he has nearly two dozen more kills than him.
  • Tig is one of only two characters to kill someone in the series premiere and the series finale. The other was Jax Teller.
  • Tig is the sixth Vice President of SAMCRO, preceded chronologically by Piney Winston (pre-series), Clay Morrow (pre-series), Jax Teller (Pilot-To Be, Act 2), Bobby Munson (Sovereign-J'ai Obtenu Cette), and Chibs Telford (Straw-Papa's Goods).
  • Tig appears in Mayans M.C. a Sons of Anarchy sequel series. He can be seen wearing Jax's signature gun-scythes on his collar, as a tribute to his fallen brother.
