Miguel Galindo was the son of Galindo Cartel founder Jose Galindo and a major character on Mayans MC, a spinoff of the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Played by Cuban-American actor Danny Pino, Miguel makes his debut in the series' premiere episode, "Perro/Oc", in the series' first season. Playing a recurring role through the same and subsequent seasons.

Personality[]

Miguel Galindo is everything that can be expected of a cartel boss, cold-hearted, ruthless and ambitious. He runs his business seriously and has very little patience for failure or opposition and will use violence to deal with either without hesitation.

His cruelty and greed run deep, as when Marcus Alvarez talked with Obispo "Bishop" Losa about Miguel, the former claimed that Jose Galindo understood "the pride of men", while both men agreed that Miguel does not, as such it can be implied that despite his outwardly respectful demeanour towards Alvarez, he in fact may care very little about his business associates. This point is more or less proven when he threatened Bishop to deliver one of the assailants that hijacked his product in a timely manner or have one of the Santo Padre charter members sacrificed as punishment.

Following his encounter with Los Olvidados, and for the most part of season two, Miguel has mellowed out on his violent tendencies. Being more tactful, cooperative, less authoritative and more strategical. He does, however, still face difficulties on balancing his family and criminal lives.

By season three, the death of his mother has left him devastated, full of sorrow and even guilt as he believes she may have blamed him for something. As the border lockdown has decreased his ability to maintain control of his operations, he has become more distant with Emily, separated himself from the Los Olvidados, and has returned to his more violent tactics, ruthlessly ordering Dita's psychologist death for failing to treat her mother or reveal anything to him about her, and murdering Paco for failing to prevent Dita's death, showing him as far more unstable. He also has an affair with Palomo for solace.

Biography[]

Background[]

With wit, charm and an Ivy League education, Miguel navigates both sides of the border as effortlessly as he juggles his professional and family life, having mastered success in both legitimate enterprises, as well as the family business.

Season 1[]

"Perro/Oc"[]

We first meet Miguel Galindo, boss of the Galindo cartel as he is questioning his associates, the Mayans Motorcycle Club, Santo Padre charter after his shipment, being protected by them was hijacked and he lost $2.4 million worth of product. Club Presidente, Obispo "Bishop" Losa explains that he doesn't know the men responsible. Miguel carries on saying that every run is different, so there must be a rat in his club, Bishop scoffs at the idea. Prospect Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes pipes up and explains he saw the letters B.T.T tattooed on one of the hijackers, Bishop affirms this means they belong to the "Basetown Tribe", a small time Samoan gang. They were hired as this isn't there usual way of making cash.

Miguel tells Bishop that his club will track down the B.T.T and bring their leader to him, Bishop refuses but Miguel reminds him that he now owes him, and if they don't bring him the leader, he'll kill a club member.

The club are successful in capturing Afa, the B.T.T leader and interrogating him, he explains that he was hired by a woman but doesn't know anything about her, Miguel believes he has more information so has his arm cut off, Afa admits the woman uttered a phrase that linked her to the Los Olvidados organisation, a rebel organisation who are trying to bring down the Galindo cartel.

Alvarez arrives just in time to see Afa executed and Miguel approaches him, he explains that his father would be pleased to see their friendship and had a lot of respect for Alvarez. Alvarez says he felt the same and offers his assistance to Miguel wherever he can. Miguel then takes his leave to have dinner with his family.

Miguel arrives to have dinner with his wife, Emily Galindo and his son Cristobal. They finish dinner and Miguel gets in a separate car to his wife and leaves.

"Escorpión/Dzec"[]

Miguel attempts to comfort Emily after learning of the horrifying news that his son has been kidnapped by Los Olvidados. Miguel assures Emily that he will find Cristobal, he will do everything in his power and use all his contacts. Emily is upset as Miguel's worlds have now crossed and it has had tragic consequences after Miguel assured her the two worlds wouldn't collide. Emily wants to know answers from now on, Miguel agrees.

Nestor Oceteva, Miguel's close friend and head of security and Devante Caro and Miguel later meet with the club to inform them of the kidnapping of Cristobal. The club agrees to help and Nestor explains what they know about the car involved in the kidnapping. Nestor then shows Miguel and Devante a propaganda video posted by Los Olvidados.

Miguel, Devnate and Nestor learn that the music playing in the propaganda video has been sourced, it is from a street vendors truck and he must have been close enough to see what happened, Miguel orders the man be captured but Nestor says he already has.

Miguel begins to interrogate the man as the club arrive. Nestor throws boiling oil on the man and Miguel then orders that the man's son be bought up too. Angel Reyes, a club member receives a phone call telling Miguel that they have found the car he was looking for. The club say they will handle it but Miguel isn't trusting; he orders Nestor to follow them and leave no stone unturned.

Miguel returns home and is immediately confronted by Emily, she states that she has seen the propaganda video. She is terrified that if Miguel retaliates, Los Olvidados will hurt Cristobal. Devante enters with news from Nestor and he ushers Emily out of the room. Devante explains that the car was a dead end and the cartel have no leads. Devante tries to convince Miguel to reply quickly and with aggression, Devante admits something to Miguel and Dita is invited in to the room. Dita sadly explains that Miguel's brother, also named Cristobal was kidnapped by a rival cartel and killed. Miguel always believed that his brother died of pneumonia. Jose, Miguel's father refused to bend to the cartel and as a result his son was killed, Dita explains that once they had Miguel their lives moved on. Miguel questions Devante asking if he really wants him to do the same and Devante confirms this, the only way to try to get his son back is to draw first blood, fear will always be the best weapon. Dita apologises for lying to Miguel and leaves.

Miguel leaves, Emily attempts to speak to him but he ignores her and exits the house.

"Búho/Muwan"[]

Bishop, Alvarez, Hank "Tranq" Loza and Che "Taza" Romero meet with Miguel and Devante to discuss a new Chinese buyer the club may have. They will discuss business further when they make their next run to Vegas. Devante pulls Miguel aside and explains the Chinese have some sort of inside play and Miguel wants it set up.

Nestor arrives, returning from a raid on a possible location for the Los Olvidados camp, Nestor explains the intel was good but they were too late, he presents a skull with Cristobal's name written on it retrieved from the camp

Miguel previously sent Nestor out to capture a group of young thugs who had been stepping on Galindo territory. Miguel sits with the boy and cuts his hand open before spreading the blood on his face, he explains that the boy is now part of the cartel and the boy accepts, terrified. He is then escorted out. Nestor speaks to Miguel and its revealed this is part of Miguel's plan to get spies on the streets.

Miguel later speaks to Emily, he tells her that he knows she went to the square looking for answers. Miguel begins to cry and apologises to Emily.

"Bat/Zotz"[]

Miguel, Dante and Nestor are having a strategic meeting. Emily arrives and wishes to have a say. She explains the strategy that Los Olvidados are using to grow their influence so quickly. Devante questions how any of this information is useful and Emily retorts that this is precisely the reason why the cartel are losing ground. She wants to use the Santa Madre parade later to try and make the Los Olvidados look like the real enemy.

They take a risk on Emily's idea and make plans to vandalise the church in the name of Los Olvidados. Devante thanks Emily for her great idea. Nestor arrives with some new video footage from a spy showing the rebel leader, Cristobal and a local nun. The cartel are finally able to put a face and a name to the revel leader, Adelita.

They arrive at the parade, whilst the church is vacant, Nestor and his team vandalise it with Los Olvidados propaganda, they also murder the nun who was seen helping Adelita in the video and leave her inside the church, making it look like Los Olvidados again. Emily is horrified to see the dead nun as none of this was part of her plan, as the crowd realise what has happened Emily is caught in a stampede on the way out of the church. Miguel picks the wounded Emily up and carries her away.

"Uch/Opossum"[]

Miguel comes to visit Emily in the hospital, she is horrified about what Miguel had done to the nun and says nothing to him before being wheeled away again.

Devante meets Miguel at the hospital where he is waiting for Emily. He informs Miguel that the church is grateful for the assistance that the Galindo family has provided since a nun was murdered in the church. Devante also confirms they are spreading the image of the dead nun to all associates to bring heat towards Los Olvidados. Devante asks if Emily is upset with Miguel and he confirms this. Devante offers to say the decision to kill the nun was his idea but Miguel states Emily knows he calls the shots and will have approved the idea.

Nestor arrives and explains to Devante and Miguel that he has just seen EZ leaving a room with Emily being wheeled out closely behind by a nurse. Miguel sarcastically remarks, "good to know my wife is talking to someone".

Miguel summons EZ to meet with him, EZ arrives out in the middle of nowhere, Miguel explains to EZ that he knows he was at the hospital and EZ doesn't deny it. He explains he meant no disrespect to Miguel and was just concerned for Emily. Miguel monologues and explains he's going to make big purchases in the area to bring life to the economy, EZ notes it as "washing the blood off the family money". Miguel threatens EZ, warning him to stay away from Emily.

Emily returns home and is immediately interrogated by Miguel, he tells her he knows EZ came to the hospital and thinks she was with him again this evening. Emily smacks Miguel after they begin to argue and he accuses her of letting Cristobal be taken, a physical fight ensues as Miguel chokes Emily on the sofa, they begin to kiss and make love.

"Gato/Mis"[]

Nestor announces to Miguel, Devante and Emily that they have a location for the Los Olvidados camp after one of their street kids payed off. Nestor unveils a map and begins to plan. Dita arrives and says that Miguel has a phone call from someone called "Adelita". Devante quickly dials in and the woman on the other end speaks. She explains that she represents Los Olvidados and has the demands to return Cristobal. Adelita demands 7 million pesos in cryptocurrency and that Miguel crosses the border to Mexico alone and then she will tell him where his son is. After the call ends, Miguel tells Emily to prepare the money and for Nestor to hit the location they have for the camp and to kill everyone.

Miguel, Emily, Devante and Dita travel to the border as Miguel prepares to cross to retrieve Cristobal. Devante walks with Miguel and he tells him that as soon as he has Cristobal to make the call to Nestor to breach the camp. Miguel crosses and waits close by. Adelita soon calls him to confirm that the money had been received, she directs Miguel to where Cristobal is, inside a car and he rushes over and quickly retrieves Cristobal. He returns to the gates and sees a very relieved Emily, Dita and Devante. The agent at the border demands that he follows her so he does.

Miguel follows them in to a room and begins to explain that he and his son are legal but the guard silences him and orders him to sit. They demand to have the blanket Cristobal is wrapped in and Miguel laughs as he hands it over but is later horrified to see that it has drugs stashed inside it. Miguel protests but he knows there is nothing he can do, Cristobal is taken away.

Miguel is taken to a holding cell where he is seen deep in thought.

"Cucaracha/K'uruch"[]

A dishevelled Miguel sits in the holding cell. A burly man named Fredo approaches him and begins hurling insults before telling Miguel he wants his shirt. Miguel slowly takes off his shirt before explaining to the man that he is a cockroach, he then attacks the man and strangles him to death with the shirt before spitting on his corpse.

Miguel is finally removed the cell and is escorted by the same agents as before, they offer no answers to his questions and he soon finds himself alone in a room with a woman who he realises is Adelita. He demands to know where his son is and he learns Cristobal is safe. Miguel tells Adelita that if she wanted him dead he already would be and Adelita confirms. A shocked Miguel hears that Adelita wants to work with the cartel. He sits as she shows him a live feed of some of his drug plants, Miguel continues to ask questions and Adelita answers by blowing up his various drug locations. Miguel scoffs as he questions Luisa asking her if she thinks that a few locations will impact his business. His confusion grows when Adelita affirms that she knows it won't do anything before showing even more locations, Miguel's whole operation. She tells him that all of those locations will matter and then Lobos Sonora, a rival cartel will usurp the Galindo Cartel all whilst Miguel is fighting a drugs charge. Miguel asks in disbelief if this was Adelita's plan all along and she confirms. Adelita explains the only way violence stops is if Los Olvidados and the cartel unite to stamp out other evil and simply point their own in the right direction. They will make a fortune and will give it to the people who deserve it.

Miguel isn't opposed to the idea of peace but wonders how they can trust each other, Adelita explains that they tell the truth, she reveals her real name, Luisa Espina to Miguel. She understands that trust won't come easily so they should have a third party to assist in operations. She leaves this decision up to Miguel and she leaves.

Miguel waits in the same room and eventually Cristobal is bought to him, he is released from custody as he thanks the agents. He passes by Luisa on his way out, she tells him that she'll be in touch, he nods and silently leaves.

Miguel finally arrives home and the family are overjoyed to see the safe return of him and Cristobal.

The family are enjoying their evening when suddenly the lights in the house go out. Sensing something is wrong Miguel sends Nestor to investigate and quickly follows, outside he is apprehended by armed police. He stares sadly as Emily finally exits the house, knowing dark times are ahead.

"Rata/Ch'o"[]

Miguel has been arrested and is being interrogated by assistant district attorney Lincoln Potter. Miguel requests a lawyer and says he will say nothing but Potter says he will speak regardless. Potter rambles for a bit before telling Miguel that he hasn't contacted a lawyer for him and legally he doesn't have to. He then reveals that Emily has also been arrested due to not reporting Cristobal's abduction and leaves.

Potter returns later after speaking to Emily. He explains to Miguel that years ago he was very close to stopping a huge gun smuggling operation but was stopped due to Miguel's father's deal with the CIA. Potter reminds Miguel that Los Olvidados are slowly destroying his various businesses. Sensing that Potter is hinting at the cartel working with the government; Miguel cuts him off and says that the CIA deal destroyed his father, Potter continues to attempt to reason with Miguel but he isn't interested. "Charge me or release me" is the final offer he has for Potter.

Potter returns once more to see Miguel, he gives him a large book with legal statements in it and explains the rules of the deal. He will remain head of the cartel and "heroin king". He will own territory still but the government will provide support so he can destroy Los Olvidados and any other enemies, they will also ensure that his Santo Padre agriculture park project goes through on his legal business end. In exchange the government keeps balance and can have drugs if need be for business dealings. He then shows Miguel footage of the other room where Emily can be seen sobbing. He explains that the abduction charge placed against Emily won't hold up in court but it is enough to get Cristobal taken away for good. Emily has also seen another folder with evidence built up against Miguel, if Emily corroborates the evidence in there, Miguel will go to jail. Emily will be choosing between Miguel or Cristobal. Potter gives Miguel five minutes to sign his deal or Emily will decide for him. Miguel immediately picks up the folder and begins to read through it, he signs the deal.

Miguel and Emily are later freed and allowed to leave with Cristobal. Emily tells Miguel that all of their intel was fake but it doesn't matter now that Miguel has signed the deal, the government own the cartel. Miguel explains to Emily that they don't have everyone; cryptically explaining devil soldiers but doesn't reveal anymore. Referencing the secret partnership with Los Olvidados.

"Serpiente/Chikchan"[]

Miguel speaks to Devante, he has ordered him to sweep the whole house for listening devices, Devante confirms so far it's clean but wants to wait until Dita and Emily are out of the house before finishing. The pair head downstairs to meet with Emily. Devante is horrified when Miguel explains that he is going to work with Los Olvidados to keep the government at bay; they will give them just enough information to make them feel like they're in control but the majority of their work will still be secret. Devante tries to convince Miguel that allying himself with Los Olvidados is a mistake and that allying with Potter is the safest option for them. Miguel ponders if he should listen to Devante's advice; he has been through this ordeal before. The study is a mess after being turned upside down by the feds. Miguel finds a curious envelope and when he opens it he finds medical records about his brother, Cristobal. Miguel is sickened to see that his brother didn't die at the hands of a rival cartel like Devante said he did; he died of pneumonia and Devante has been using this lie to twist Miguel in to the man he is today.

Devante enters the study once more and Miguel lies and explains to him that he was right and he will be following his advice, Nestor has also been successful in getting an ally of Adelita to lure her out so the cartel can finally take care of her. Devante tells Miguel he has made the right choice to which he wryly smiles, telling him he knows.

The club and cartel head out to the casino to meet with Miguel for the first time since he was released from custody. They sit down and he begins explaining that he has signed a deal, similar to one that his father signed 10 years ago. He goes on to explain that while he was detained at the border he was approached by someone else and offered a deal, that person was Adelita, better known as Luisa. The club are astounded at what they are seeing and hearing. Luisa then addresses everyone in attendance and her and Miguel confirm they are no longer enemies but are in fact partners. After the meeting Bishop, Alvarez and Miguel discuss the new deal. Bishop says it will need to be taken to the table but he sees no issue with the partnership. Alvarez is asked by Miguel to ride back with him as he wants to discuss a family matter.

Devante is distraught at the turn of events emphasizing that they don't know anything about Adelita, while in the car he asks Miguel the meaning behind his actions, Miguel then reveals that he's aware of Devante's lie which has caused the trust to be broken. As they exit the car he then reveals another truth to him, that Adelita is the daughter of Pedro Espina, whom Devante killed years ago, and that he is being offered as retribution in order to deepen the trust between the cartel and Los Olvidados. Devante tells Miguel that he forced Dita to lie and the two men part ways on relatively good but scarred terms.

Miguel then offers Adelita a machete to enact her vengeance just like he killed her father with, to settle the family debt with her. Devante is later seen decapitated by Adelita.

"Cuervo/Tz'ikb'uul"[]

Dita finds the x-rays proving that Cristobal really died of pneumonia and wasn't in fact killed by the cartel like Devante had had her lie about to Miguel for years. She now knows Miguel knows the truth. He approaches her and she begins to apologise but he cuts her off, saying he blames Devante. Dita inquisitively asks about Devante's whereabouts, possibly knowing the grisly answer to her question already, she begins to sob as Miguel simply answers "It's done".

Miguel summons Nestor to tell him that he doesn't want him to be out in the field as much. Nestor is upset at this decision as Miguel explains that he doesn't believe Nestor is smart enough to continue to do the work he does.

Miguel and Emily answer the front door to see Alvarez standing there; he has chosen to leave the Mayans and come to work for the cartel instead; replacing Devante.

Season 2[]

"Xbalanque"[]

Miguel and Emily are trying to arrange plans for fire damage on property Miguel owns to be repaired, the cause of the fire isn't revealed. Miguel and Alvarez leave to go on business.

Emily continues to work on the figures in preparation to submit them to gain building permits. Emily makes Miguel promise to take Dita to a therapist, Emily claims that Dita is becoming worse. Dita then abruptly arrives to tell the pair that Alvarez has arrived.

Alvarez and Miguel ride in a car, Alvarez states he has received a call from Anna Linares, Potter's second in command. He learns that security is going to be tightened after what happened at the safehouse. Miguel makes the call that Luisa is going to have to be moved or she will be found. Emily calls Miguel to enquire about where he is as he is supposed to be taking Dita to the therapist but he declines her call.

The pair arrive at the Los Olvidados safehouse.

Later that night Miguel apologises to Emily about missing the appointment, he explains that he was with Luisa and Emily appears very suspicious as she asks if Miguel knows who the father of Luisa's baby is, Miguel explains he doesn't know.

"Xaman-Ek"[]

Emily, Miguel and Dita arrive at the city centre, Emily is working more on the building project, she steps outside the car and Emily wishes Miguel luck with Dita. They are hoping that her visit to the doctor will convince her to seek psychiatric treatment for her ever worsening mental state. Miguel gets back in the car with Dita and leaves.

As Miguel waits with Dita, he receives a call from Emily, she explains that their bid isn't the only one for the build project. He hastily leaves, speaking to Nestor on his way out informing him to wait with Dita.

The pair meet and Emily discloses that she doesn't know who the other bidders are. Miguel stoically explains he will find out and handle it. Emily becomes angry and tells him that he can't bring the cartel world in to their business life, Miguel retorts that he sees no reason why he can't as all big companies are corrupt anyway. Emily reminds him that he will ruin his legacy if he is caught and Miguel has a son to think of. Emily ends by saying that she will speak to Iliana, a friend who works at city hall.

Nestor arrives in a panic and asks Miguel if he has heard from Dita, Miguel is confused and Nestor can't look him in the eye as he admits he doesn't know where she has gone.

They return home and Alvarez tells Miguel that he has the sheriff department searching after they were unable to locate Dita at any hospitals. Paco, one of Miguel's bodyguards enters and announces that Dita has just arrived home. They rush outside to see Dita arriving in a truck with Felipe Reyes, the father of EZ and Angel. Dita appears confused and explains that she got disoriented and Felipe kindly agreed to drive her home. Miguel coldly stares at Felipe before thanking him and hurrying inside.

Emily and Miguel put Dita to bed and Miguel is immediately concerned. He questions why Dita would go and see EZ's father, Emily insists that she has never told her anything about her and EZ. Emily attempts to reassure Miguel with the notion that Dita has agreed to go to see a psychiatrist.

"Camazotz"[]

Alavarez approaches Miguel to ask what is wrong with Emily. Miguel explains that she is angry about the news that the agra park project has other bidders and they are unlikely to win the deed. Alvarez inquires if he can assist with anything but Miguel declines for the time being,

Emily returns home and tells Miguel that she has some dirt on Ileana and is going to attempt to offer her money in exchange for some information about the other bidders. Miguel is very unhappy with this attempt at bribery and reminds her that business is supposed to be legit. Emily becomes angry and tries to reason with Miguel that it is just business, as they continue to shout over each other Cristobal begins to sob and Dita rushes over to take him off Emily but she snaps at her not to touch him, Dita quickly apologises and briskly walks off. Emily realises she was out of order and quickly heads upstairs too.

Alvarez interrupts to tell Miguel there is someone to see him, the pair head outside and Miguel is disappointed to see Potter and Anna Linares outside. Alvarez affirms that he didn't think Potter was even in town anymore. Potter explains that he has a proposal for Miguel but he attempts to dismiss it saying he is fully booked today, Potter simply informs Miguel that he in fact doesn't have anything scheduled for the day. Sensing the threat, Miguel agrees. Emily reappears again and kisses Miguel goodbye. Alvarez says he will be coming too but Linares refuses. Miguel whispers in Alvarez's ear to check on Luisa and investigate Felipe.

Miguel, Linares and Potter cross the border. Potter tells Miguel a cryptic story about a women he used to be involved with, Miguel asks her name but sensing the lack of innocence in his question Potter simply ignores him.

They arrive at a farm where there is a sermon of sorts happening. Potter explains it is all due to Los Olvidados. Miguel is shocked to see Sederica Palomo, a politician fighting the Los Olvidados cause. Potter questions why she would be involved with Los Olvidados as she is everything they hate. Potter explains that they think that whilst Adelita was in hiding she began to create powerful allies and Palomo is one of them. This kind of reach could send Los Olvidados to new heights of power. Potter explains that he wants Miguel to get Palomo "bloody".

As Miguel returns to Luisa to explain Potter knows about her involvement with Palomo, he receives a call from Emily, she explains her plan with Ileana was a success, he is slightly angry but tells Emily he trusts her judgement. He tells Luisa that Potter wants to tie Palomo to the cartel to cause her to lose credibility.

"Lahun Chan"[]

Emily continues to work on their new agra park bid, they have a huge advantage knowing what their competitors can offer. She quickly discusses it with Miguel but he is mostly letting her do all the work. Miguel explains he's going south today to deal with Potter business. Emily reminds Miguel that Dita is going to her psychologist today, Emily says she will go with Nestor and make sure she doesn't escape this time.

Miguel, Luisa and Alvarez travel to meet with Palomo. Luisa asks Miguel how much she thinks Potter knows. Miguel says its hard to say but still thinks Luisa is the number one priority but he's being cautious due to Palomo's involvement and change of an uprising. They drive further out to the desrt and Luisa enquires about how Miguel is. He tells her that he's enjoying juggling two lives and screwing the DoJ for what they did to his father. Luisa tells Miguel that he loses a little piece of himself every time he comes to Mexico to do cartel business. Miguel is angry at this and quickly reminds Luisa that he is only here because of the irrefutable offer she made him some time ago. Alvarez informs them that they still have another hour of driving to meet Palomo.

They finally arrive at the village where they are supposed to meet Palomo. Whilst they await her arrival, Paco spots mercs riding up on their location. They don't have time to figure out why, Luisa realises she has to do something to keep the façade up, she takes guns from Galindo's men and barricades herself in a nearby shop, telling Miguel that when the mercenaries arrive, act like they've captured her, Miguel is very against the idea but knows that there isn't any other play to be made. The mercenaries arrive and Alvarez marches outside with Luisa at gunpoint, Hobart, the leader of the mercenaries hired by Potter quickly takes Luisa away as she spits in his face and curses out Miguel. The act was successful at making the cartel look like they are on Potter's side. Miguel can't contain his anger as Luisa is taken away.

"Xquic"[]

Miguel returns home and speaks to Emily. He tells her that they lost Luisa. Emily tries to comfort Miguel but he is devastated at the loss. He laments how powerful Potter is, even in comparison to him; and he will hurt Luisa and her child. Emily accuses Miguel of having some romantic connection to Luisa, Miguel firmly denies this and explains that they have just been through a lot together. Miguel admits that he has been distant and has been blinded by the success that his deal with the DoJ has bought him, he apologises to Emily. Alvarez arrives with a phone call for Miguel.

Alvarez and Miguel link up with the Mayans. They explain to the club that Luisa has been arrested, Potter also wants Miguel's help transporting her but he believes this to be a test as he is growing suspicious. He then introduces the club to Palomo, they plan to rescue Luisa. A plan is devised once the rest of the Mayans arrive.

Miguel is in town when Potter approaches him. Miguel is curious as to why he isn't helping in the transportation of Adelita. Potter presses Miguel to try and figure him out but Miguel is vague in his answers. Potter tells him he is glad of their partnership as Miguel leaves.

"Muluc"[]

Miguel is horrified to learn that Luisa gave herself up after the Mayans successfully hijacked the convey, her reason was that if she disappears then the heat from the cartel and the club will disappear, she was the target all along.

Miguel later meets the club and learns that Alvarez has been kidnapped and theorises that Hobart's men are responsible. Emily soon barges her way in to the meeting demanding to talk to Miguel, Miguel tries to get her to leave before a bloody Nestor stumbles through the doorway. Emily tries to help but Miguel orders her to be taken away.

Miguel visits Linares to explain the Alvarez situation, Linares denies having any involvement but Miguel is sure it is Potter's doing.

Miguel returns to the dress warehouse where he receives a cryptic text sent from Alvarez, they quickly understand the coded message and begin to track where Alvarez could be being held.

The club and the cartel piece together where Alvarez is and launch an assault, they are able to storm the warehouse and kill all of the attackers inside, it is revealed that Hobart has been responsible for the kidnapping, a badly injured Alvarez is allowed to deal the finishing blow and beats Hobart to death with a wrench.

Miguel returns home to see Emily and she apologises for what happened earlier. Emily confesses that it's hard to balance their business life and cartel life now, Miguel enquires about what Emily needed help with but she says it has been fixed.

"Tohil"[]

Emily and Miguel later head to city hall to speak to Antonia Peña, she informs them that Marlon Buksar, a city council clerk is dead and it seems to be suicide. Miguel questions why they are here and Antonia explains that before Marlon took his own life, he emailed her and confessed ot have been taking bribes for insider information and giving ChinAgra, another company bidding for the project an unfair advantage. Emily quickly asks what this means for the project and Antonia explains that their bid will be removed and the Galindo bid will win. Antonia changes tone as she then directs her line of questioning to Miguel, suspecting foul play she asks him that what happened to Marlon never happens in Santo Padre again, Emily chimes in and gives her assurances before they depart.

Outside, Miguel is incredibly suspicious and tells Emily that the circumstances surrounding Marlon seem too unlikely and she must have had some sort of link to his demise, Emily denies and tells Miguel they should celebrate the legit business venture.

Miguel gets in a separate car to Emily and asks Nestor to keep a close eye on Emily, he wants to know everywhere she goes at all times.

Later that night Miguel receives a call from Emily and she explains she is going to see Ileana, she is devastated over Marlon's passing and wants to be there for her. He puts down the phone

"Kukulkan"[]

Emily arrives home and speaks to Miguel, they discuss the Santo Padre paper announcing Galindo Enterprises as the winner of the AgraPark project and Miguel states he is glad Marlon isn't mentioned.

Miguel drives Dita to her psychologist appointment and asks her to not get lost again. He departs afterwards.

Alvarez and Miguel head out to meet Palomo once again. Palomo has delivered some intel on Potter. Some time ago Miguel innocently asked Potter if he had any family and Potter couldn't help but ramble on about a woman he met years ago, using this information Miguel was able to pass it to Palomo and she has tracked down the woman Potter spoke of, he finally has some leverage against him. Miguel is also shocked to learn that Potter also had a son with this woman. Palomo is worried that Miguel will hurt the innocent woman and her child but Miguel denies this, saying it is just "potential leverage" to assist Luisa.

Miguel later receives a call from Nestor telling him that Emily has ended up at Felipe's shop once again, Miguel quickly arrives and questions Emily. Miguel sarcastically remarks to Felipe that all the women in his life can't stay away from him, Felipe calmly responds that he is the only butcher in town. Emily retorts that Nestor is keeping a close eye on her as Miguel ushers her in to his car.

"Itzam-Ye"[]

Miguel awakens to find Emily not by his side. He heads downstairs and finds Emily outside drinking. He asks Nestor to sit with him and confesses that he has made lots of mistakes with Emily, trying to play Potter's game. Nestor suggests that honesty buys honestly and Emily loves him no matter what.

Miguel is meeting with Nestor and Alvarez. Emily enters and Miguel shows her some leverage he was able to obtain from Palomo, information about Potter's lover and son. He explains to Emily that he isn't going to threaten them, but the woman was a witness in a case that helped Potter make it big. If it's exposed, he'd lose all credibility. Dr. Luna explains that doctor-patient confidentiality rules still exist, despite Dita's passing. Miguel begins to sob as he pleads with Dr. Luna to tell him something about Dita's sessions. She continues to plead that she cannot divulge any information. Miguel's tearful demeanour quickly clears up, as he briskly walks past Dr. Luna out the door. Outside, Alvarez tells him the feds are cracking down harder on the drug smuggling and they need to find another way to get a shipment over the border. Miguel tells Alvarez to get Paco and Nestor ready for tonight. Miguel gets in a car and departs.

Miguel returns home and an argument between him and Emily immediately breaks out. Cristobal is crying and Miguel calls for Maria, the nanny. Emily informs Miguel that she allowed Antonia to enter the home earlier and berate her, as a result, she fired Maria. Miguel is angry with this and says that Maria has a family to look after and she is all Cristobal knows, Emily snaps back that Cristobal knows her as she is his mother. Miguel questions what Antonia wanted and Emily says she wants to know how they are going to save Santo Padre. Miguel expresses that it isn't their problem and they couldn't have known that Potter would have the borders closed. The Galindo's won't lose any money however. Emily tells Miguel that the medical examiner called again about Dita, Miguel quickly changes the subject and leaves stating he has to return to Mexico.

Miguel arrives at the hotel room of Palomo and the pair kiss.

"The Orneriness of Kings"[]

Miguel awakens from a nightmare about Dita. He briefly discusses Palomo's political campaign and how she is failing in Santo Padre. Palomo claims she’s working on obliterating crime and ending the Galindo cartel, but Miguel’s presence in her bed says otherwise. Palomo also discusses the Lobos New Generation, a reborn cartel that is trying to overthrow the Galindo cartel. Miguel expresses little care for this cartel, stating they were formerly knows as Lobos Sonora and his father had wiped them out many years ago; this new cartel are just wannabes.

Miguel summons Alvarez, Nestor and Paco out to the desert. He addresses Paco that he needs his mother to be here but she isn't, because of him, he allowed Dita to steal the car and drive off to her demise. Paco tries to explain himself but Miguel quickly draws a gun from a box that Alvarez has bought him and shoots Paco in the throat. Paco stumbles and begs for his life and Miguel messes with the jammed gun, shooting him once more in the legs. Paco falls to the floor and tries to protect himself before Miguel is able to chamber another round and finish him off. "Overreaching Don't Pay"[]

The pair sit and Felipe tells Miguel what his mother was like when she was younger, the pair laugh about how she used to love to dance. Miguel solemnly states there was a lot he didn't know. Felipe explains that to live in Miguel's father's world, there was a lot Dita had to hide. Miguel finally asks if Dita was also in love with Felipe. Felipe thinks for a moment and assures Miguel that she was always loyal to Jose. A young girl enters and Miguel prepares to leave, he gifts the photo to Felipe telling him "so you can remember her as she was". Miguel outstretches his hand for Felipe to shake but he instead embraces him tightly, Miguel is visibly shocked by this seemingly odd gesture from a man he doesn't really know.

Miguel returns home, noticing Emily's mood changes and she appears afraid and reserved. Miguel apologises for his recent behaviour as Erin watches on, agreeing with his need to apologise. Emily and Miguel head up to bed as Erin stays outside.

Alvarez asks what needs to be done but Miguel brushes him aside, telling him he'll handle it and Alvarez should answer his phone.

Miguel heads over the border and accosts Palomo in the middle of a meeting. He takes her aside and accuses her of making a deal with the LNG to which she denies. She sarcastically tells him that it is "collateral of what we do". Mirroring exactly what Miguel told her when she found out her staff had been killed. Miguel whispers some threats in her ear before she loudly explains that Miguel is a criminal as he leaves with a smug look on his face.

Miguel later makes his way to Maria's house, the previous nanny that worked at the Galindo residence that Emily fired. Miguel enquires about the relationship between Maria and Dita, knowing that the two were close. He also apologises for Emily's behaviour and Maria thanks him for his generous final payment. He gets down to business and asks if there is anything he should know about Dita that she might never have told him. Miguel gets emotional and goes to leave. Maria stops him and tearfully explains that Dita was very afraid of Emily; Emily was also involved with the Reyes family in some way and that Dita found out. Miguel presses further questions, asking specifically about Felipe and EZ to which Maria confirms, stating that they were "involved with something bad". Maria continues saying that if Emily or the Reyes family ever found out Dita knew, she was worried something might happen to her. She finishes by exclaiming that Dita told Maria to tell Miguel if anything ever happened to her, they were responsible.

Miguel continues on the path of finding out the truth, he next visits Nestor's apartment. Nestor is very surprised to see him and throws the woman he is with out. Miguel cuts straight to the point and bluntly asks Nestor if he has ever seen Emily with EZ or Felipe, a confused Nestor replies saying only when Miguel was also present and again asks Miguel what is wrong. Miguel drops the bombshell that the medical examiner doesn't believe Dita killed herself and it looked as if she had been strangled to death. An anxious Nestor reveals to Miguel that he might know something but didn't say anything as he didn't know what it meant. Miguel aggressively presses him to reveal the truth. Nestor explains that the night Dita died, motorcycle tracks were found at the scene.

Miguel tells Alvarez that he believes Emily enlisted the help of EZ to kill Dita. Miguel explains to Alvarez he has always questioned where his true loyalties lie and now they will find out. He wants Alvarez to kill EZ.

Miguel returns home and finds a solemn Emily. Emily explains that her and Erin had a fight and she left, probably for good. Emily says she told Erin some terrible things but Miguel remarks it will be nice to have the house to themselves again. Miguel runs a bath for Emily and tells her he will join her in it soon, he pours some wine for the pair as Emily slips in to the bath.

Miguel heads down to the kitchen under the guise of getting some more wine, whilst there he crushes up some of Emily's pills and mixes them in to her glass, checking that it cannot be seen. He returns upstairs and hands her the wine to which she drinks, he watches as Emily begins to slip in to unconsciousness and pushes her head below the water. He leaves the bathroom and goes in to Dita's room where he breaks down and begins to sob uncontrollably. A quick change of heart sends Miguel bolting back in to the bathroom, he drags Emily out of the bath and rushes her in to the bedroom, apologising frantically as Emily slowly regains consciousness.

Miguel's property in both the US and Mexico have been seized and federal agents will be at his door in about 45 minutes. Miguel demands to know why Potter is telling him all of this and he just says that maybe he isn't ready to retire yet.

Miguel begins to pack and quickly calls Emily, telling her they need to leave Santo Padre right now and to begin the plan they've always talked about.

Miguel waits by his helicopter and continuously calls Nestor who isn't answering. He says he will talk to Eduardo but Soledad refuses, saying that the conversation is her's now.

After Soledad stalks off, Potter reminds Miguel that he owns him. He can take everything away from him again if he steps out of line.

Miguel returns home and finds a woman speaking with Emily. She introduces herself as Patricia Devlin, a government agent investigating mishandled funds. Patricia claims that the department of justice spends $36k a month on Miguel's house. Miguel immediately becomes hostile, stating that his attorneys should be having this conversation instead. Patricia laughs this off, offering the pair to sit and chat. Patricia clears up that she isn't interested in Miguel's wrongdoings, only those within her own office. Patricia offers Miguel a deal to expose who he is in partnership with and he may get out of prison alive. Miguel scoffs at her offer, reminding her that he is a free man, convicted of nothing. Patricia states that he may think so, but everything in his life could come crashing down in a moment. She leaves him her card, telling him he has to decide where he wants to end up and prepares to leave.

As she stands, Miguel tells her that he knows she is here about Potter, attempting to not mention him by name. But she won't get anything else until he has a signed deal of immunity for him and Emily. Patricia ponders why Emily also needs immunity but agrees. Potter hands her over the evidence. He gives her information on Potter's wife and son, the same information secured for him by Palomo.
