Sons of Anarchy

Lowell Harland, Jr. is a mechanic at Teller-Morrow on the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Played by Australian actor Keir O'Donnell, Lowell makes his debut on the episode "Patch Over" in the series' first season. Playing a recurring role through the same season, he was last seen in the Season 1 episode "The Revelator".

Biography[]

Background[]

A second-generation mechanic, Lowell Jr. is the son of the late Lowell Harland, Sr., a former mechanic at the same garage. Lowell, Jr., followed in his father's footsteps in two respects, having found a place at the garage and becoming involved with drugs in his life. Lowell Jr.'s drug of choice seems to be crank. While Lowell Jr. is not a member of the MC, he is a good friend of the club and, as Clay mentions in Old Bones, often overhears club secrets at the garage.

Season 1[]

"Patch Over"[]

"Old Bones"[]

At the clubhouse. Kip "Half-Sack" Epps is boxing with Lowell, a mechanic at TM and a recovering drug addict. Clarence "Clay" Morrow eventually arrives and tells Lowell to get out of the ring or he'll get himself hurt.

Clay speaks to Lowell, he tells him the truth about the bodies that were recently found on i44 and wants him to hear it from him first, one of the bodies belongs to his father, Lowell Harland Sr.. Lowell is in disbelief, he reiterates to Clay that his dad left when he was young, he isn't dead and Clay even told him as such. Clay explains that he was killed by Mayans Motorcycle Club members, who are also buried with him. Clay says that Deputy Chief David Hale of Charming PD is eventually going to come and tell Lowell exactly what he has just learned, and he is going to try and convince him the Sons had something to do with it; he shouldn't be misled.

Lowell goes to the police station. Hale explains the situation with his dead father but Lowell isn't too surprised, seemingly already knowing the truth. Hale and Agent June Stahl start to feed Lowell thoughts, they tell him he must have done something to the Sons to warrant him such a grisly demise, and then for him to be buried with their enemies? He must have really pissed off Clay. Suddenly Chief Wayne Unser enters, telling Lowell to leave and demanding to know who Stahl is.

Lowell skips town, he gets high and hunkers down in a motel.

Clay hunts for Lowell, he eventually finds him. A high and sporadic Lowell tells Clay he is a liar. Clay finally admits the truth, he says that he did in fact kill his father, he was a terrible person and treated his wife and his son terrible, he was also a rat and deserved to die. Clay says that Lowell is turning in to his father, and his son, Moby will suffer the same fate. Lowell begs for Clay to kill him. Clay places a pillow over Lowell's head and points a gun at it.

Clay chooses to not kill Lowell, he takes him back to Charming and makes sure he checks in to a rehab centre

"The Sleep of Babies"[]

In the penultimate episode of Season 1, Lowell was seen clean and sober at Abel's welcome home party.

"The Revelator"[]

Lowell was present in the Season 1 finale when he appears at Donna Winston's funeral, attended by SAMCRO, the Winston family, and Sons of Anarchy from other charters (likely on the West Coast). This was his last appearance in the series. It can be assumed that he continued to work for Clay after his rehabilitation.
