Former Special Agent Kevin "KJ" Jimenez was a DEA agent intent on taking down the Galindo Cartel on Mayans MC, a spinoff based on the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Played by American actor Maurice Compte, Jimenez makes his debut in the series' premiere episode, "Perro/Oc", in season one. Playing a recurring role through the same season, Jimenez met his demise in the finale, "Cuervo/Tz'ikb'uul".

Biography[]

Kevin Jimenez is a DEA agent who has made it his mission to take down the Galindo Cartel. He has become overly obsessive in his search. He is the handler of Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes, the pair are also related. He works hard to ensure that EZ's deal stays alive but often finds it hard due to EZ not delivering enough information about the cartel, as he is worried about implicating his club also.

Unfortunately for Jimenez, his tunnel vision on his mission leaves him unable to figure out that his real biggest threat has been beside him the whole time, his own government. Jimenez is tragically taken out by his own cousin under orders of Lincoln Potter, a shady district attorney. Who needed the cartel to stay in the game for his own nefarious means.

Season 1[]

"Perro/Oc"[]

Jimenez visits the butcher shop of Felipe Reyes, father of Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes, his informant and Angel Reyes. He receives some intel and demands to speak to EZ tonight.

Jimenez later meets EZ at the butcher shop. Jimenez wants to know about a hijacking of the Mayans Motorcycle Club, Santo Padre's drug shipment the previous night. EZ admits that the Basetown Tribe were behind it and they were hired by Los Olvidados. Jimenez reminds him that if he loses his deal he goes back to prison, probably for life.

"Búho/Muwan"[]

Jimenez meets with Felipe, he claims he is just checking in and leaves a contact number for Felipe and EZ.

"Bat/Zotz"[]

Jimenez sits in a car with Lawrence Bowen, another DEA agent. Bowen explains that EZ has probably not checked in due to the recent cartel activity, that being that Miguel Galindo's son has been kidnapped and the club has been working hard for the cartel recently. Bowen believes that EZ should try to get Emily Galindo, the wife of Miguel and his former lover to give up the cartel while they are weak but Jimenez isn't too sure. EZ arrives and Bowen leaves, but not before handing Jimenez information on Felipe. EZ gets in the car and Jimenez explains that Bowen, his boss has just left and has informed him about Miguel's son being kidnapped. EZ explains that he was going to tell Jimenez about that in the next drop of intel. He drops the bombshell that EZ has to turn on Emily as she is the best chance they have. If he fails, Bowen will send him back to prison. EZ flat-out refuses and says he won't put Emily at risk. He exits Jimenez' car and walks away.

Jimenez meets Felipe with some troubling news, that EZ has said he will go back inside, he refuses to turn on Emily and get her to give up the cartel. Jimenez begs Felipe to help EZ make the right decision but Felipe says that EZ can make his own choices. Felipe tries to leave but Jimenez stops him by exposing secrets about his past, how he used to work for the cartel and that he is an illegal immigrant. Jimenez finishes by telling Felipe to get EZ to flip Emily, or he will expose Felipe's secrets to his sons.

Jimenez drives away before quickly pulling over his vehicle and throwing up, the lengths his job making him go to physically making him sick.

"Uch/Opossum"[]

Felipe drives to the station where Jimenez is based, he tells him that he visited his father before handing him information on his real identity, Ignacio Cortina. He asks Jimenez to not make him have to become that man again or he'll ruin everything he loves before driving away as Jimenez yells at him asking what he means. His question is answered as he soon receives a text from Felipe with pictures of his wife and children outside his home.

"Gato/Mis"[]

Felipe exits his house to find Jimenez on his doorstep. He explains that he is taken some holiday time and has sent his wife and children away. He asks Felipe if he would really hurt his family to which Felipe responds with you should never estimate a man's capacity to commit despicable acts which Jimenez explains that it didn't answer his question.

Jimenez and Felipe go inside and Felipe explains more about Ignacio Cortina and how he eventually escaped the life. Both men agree they shouldn't have threatened the other's families. Jimenez reiterates that EZ can quickly take down the cartel but he is just the messenger and doesn't know how high the order comes from. Felipe confirms that EZ wasn't lying, he won't turn on Emily.

"Cucaracha/K'uruch"[]

Jimenez returns to the office after his holiday and speaks with Bowen. Jimenez is furious to learn that he has been taken off the case and EZ is going to be going back to prison, Jimenez frantically argues that this will expose EZ but Bowen brushes it off claiming he doesn't care.

He calls EZ and explains the deal has been pulled and he needs to stay away from the club. Jimenez won't give up however.

Jimenez bangs on the door to the war room and is let in, he introduces himself to Lincoln Potter, assistant district attorney but Bowen interrupts explaining that he has been removed from the case. Jimenez argues with Potter explaining that he has put two years in to making the case against the cartel with EZ as the inside man, pulling him would be a huge mistake. He continues explaining that Miguel was arrested by border patrol last night and EZ has just informed him. Potter is surprised to learn this as it had nothing to do with his taskforce and orders an investigation in to this. He confirms to Jimenez that EZ is back in play until they learn more. Bowen is visibly angry at this decision.

"Rata/Ch'o"[]

Jimenez is met by another one of his bosses, he explains that Miguel was released from border control but fearing he may disappear again, Potter has had him and Emily arrested. Jimenez is worried that EZ is going to be exposed as Potter will do anything to steer Miguel in the direction he wants. Bowen and Jimenez argue inside the station. Potter overhearing the commotion comes to see what is happening. Jimenez curses him out as he knows he is going to use EZ as leverage and expose him as a rat. Jimenez is escorted out as he explains he will leak everything to the press he has learned so far.

Jimenez rushes to Felipe's house and orders him to summon EZ immediately.

The trio meet and Jimenez explains that EZ is going to be outed as an informant by Potter. He is going to show Miguel that he has never truly been safe and has always been watched, his only choice is to work with the government and do what they demand. EZ refuses to run explaining that Angel Reyes will appear to also be in on it and the club and the cartel will also think he is a traitor.

They wait anxiously as EZ returns to the club. EZ soon calls and informs them that his cover isn't blown. Felipe asks if the DEA deal is still on, Jimenez says he doesn't know but if it is, he won't be EZ's handler anymore as he is out of the task force.

"Serpiente/Chikchan"[]

Jimenez returns to the station to clear out his office, he arrives only to realise his office has already been completely cleaned out. Bowen arrives and Jimenez apologises to him for embarrassing him. He informs him that he will be moving up north to return to his family.

Jimenez visits Felipe one final time on his way out of Santo Padre. He tells Felipe is is looking to make sure EZ is okay but Felipe tells him he isn't sure where he is. Felipe asks about Potter and what his game is but Jimenez reveals that he doesn't know much about him other than he is the department of justice's go to man for Mexico. Jimenez heads out.

"Cuervo/Tz'ikb'uul"[]

Jimenez is packing up his car to leave when he receives a phone call from Felipe, he orders him to come to his shop immediately. Felipe brings him around back to the fridge, he asks him why he was stripped of his badge and Jimenez says that he "pissed off the wrong people". He asks more questions about Potter as Jimenez becomes curious. Jimenez assures Felipe that EZ's deal not being blown is a good sign. Felipe becomes emotional and explains that its all just "hitting" him now, he wishes Jimenez well and tells him he should leave.

Off screen, Bowen and Jimenez reconnect regarding the case, fearing they both may be in danger as Bowen has also had his security access revoked. Bowen visits Jimenez up north.

Jimenez later answers a knock on the door and finds Angel outside, he points a gun at Jimenez and forces him inside. Bowen comes to investigate the noise and upon Angel seeing him, Jimenez is able to begin grappling with Angel. EZ enters through the backdoor and amidst all the chaos, Bowen is shot to death by EZ, Jimenez stares at EZ with his hands up. Angel, knowing he has no; choice doesn't hesitate to shoot Jimenez in the head.
