Juan Carlos 'Juice' Ortiz was a member the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original on the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Played by American actor Theo Rossi, Juice makes his debut in the series' premiere episode, "Pilot", in season one. Playing a recurring role through the same and subsequent seasons, Juice met his demise in the season seven episode, "Red Rose" .

Appearance and Style[]

Juice is one of the younger members of the Sons. Juice is physically a smaller man in terms of height but makes up for it with his muscular physique. He has a shaven head except for a flat mohawk, Juice does his best to maintain this look but at times he has had a buzz cut, slicked back short hair or completely bald, usually during his various prison stints. Juice sports numerous tattoos. Some of his most defining are his tribal tattoos on either side of his head, the reaper on his left forearm and his "SON" "SHINE" chest tattoo he got during 2013, a tumultuous year in Juice's life. On his right arm, Juice has a plethora of skulls and various monsters and other imagery. Juice also has the numbers 12 27 80 tattooed on the top of his head. This is explained by Rossi as being the last day Juice remembers seeing his father.

Juice mostly falls in line with traditional biker clothing; often wearing baggy blue jeans or dark cargo trousers and a plain t-shirt.

Juice's kutte was basic in terms of customisability. In 2011, he was awarded a "Men of Mayhem" flash by Clay, which he wore on the top of his kutte.

Biography[]

Juice is of Puerto Rican and African American descent, and is originally from Bellmore, New York. He is SAMCRO's hacker and keeps their technology up to date. He is also in charge of club surveillance, and manages some of the club's intelligence and communication. At the start he is seen as unreliable by Clay, the club President, and was often given the menial tasks such as driving the transport truck, indicating that he may not have been a full patch for very long before then. He sports a short mohawk and has tribal tattoos on each side of his head. It is unknown exactly how old he is, but he is often treated as one of the younger members of the club, roughly in his early 30s.

He displays great technical prowess, but has proven to be somewhat simple minded when it comes to other tasks, often garnering him hazing from the other members. Despite initially serving as a strong ally for the club and its members in earlier seasons, he is later shown to be willing to work against his allies to preserve his spot in the club. This leads to a downwards spiral in Juice's mental state as he questions his decisions and actions, but he can not face being alone and the club is his only family. His unravelling means he becomes a liability to the club, eventually resulting in the other members not trusting him. Juice crosses many lines to protect himself and stay in good with the club but his crimes eventually catch up to him. After his unfortunate excommunication and imprisonment, Juice opts to go with honour, doing a final service to SAMCRO before being taken out.

Season 1[]

"Pilot"[]

Juan Carlos "Juice" Ortiz, a member of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Redwood Original is at the clubhouse when Kip "Half-Sack" Epps, the club Prospect shows the club his ballbag, which contains only one ball, as the other was blown off by a landmine in Iraq. Clarence "Clay" Morrow, club President tells Filip "Chibs" Telford to find Jackson "Jax" Teller, his stepson and the club Vice President and inform him they are sitting at the table. Club Sgt-at-Arms Alexander "Tig" Trager and Secretary, Robert "Bobby Elvis" Munson are also present.

At the table, Clay lays out the situation, the club have one more day before Laroy Wayne brings his men to Charming. The One-Niners have a heroin shipment coming in and they need the guns for protection. Jax is adamant that a big problem is going to occur if the Mayans Motorcycle Club attempt to steal the Niners heroin with their own guns but an angry Clay shuts down the idea, saying it isn't going to happen. The club decide they are going to track down where the guns are and retrieve them, destroying the Mayans warehouse in the process. Bobby is going to be absent as he needs to go to Tahoe to deal with his ex-wives, he is the club's usual explosive expert. Clay suggests they bring in Harry "Opie" Winston, an on and off member of the club who has recently gotten out of prison after serving 9 years for. Jax insists that Opie is "leaning straight" but Clay tells him he doesn't care, Opie will have to help them.

At the table, the club go over the situation with the Nordics, a white supremacist gang and their plan to retrieve their guns. They are joined at the table by Opie, and Happy Lowman, a member of the Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club, Tacoma charter. Piermont "Piney" Winston, Opie's father and co-founder of the club speaks up and congratulates Jax on the birth of his son, and they are all here for him if they need him.

Later that day, the club put the finishing touches to their plan to raid the Mayan warehouse and retrieve their guns. Clay is impressed with the club's work.

The club hit the Mayan warehouse and are able to locate their guns, they work on wiring the place up with explosives when Mayans arrive. They stay quiet as Jax and Clay head out to deal with the problem. They argue about what should be done as Clay insists on blowing the warehouse up but Jax isn't so sure, not wanting to start a war with the Mayans. Clay says that they would be long gone if it wasn't for the delay with the explosives which is ultimately Jax's fault, not believing his story about Opie having to take his daughter to the hospital. They are able to outmanoeuvre the Mayans which ends with Clay and Tig both killing one and Jax being left to execute the last one. Suddenly, he is shot in the back but is able to return fire and hit his attacker, the last remaining Mayan attempts to draw a knife from his belt and finish off Jax, but he is gunned down by Clay. SAMCRO check the bodies of the deceased, realising one if a Nordic, meaning the Mayans and the Nords have a new partnership.

"Seeds"[]

Clay announces that the gun deal with the Niners has finally gone through, giving the club a decent chunk of change. Juice soon arrives and says that Deputy Chief David Hale has a warrant to search one of the Sons' warehouses where they store guns.

Inside Church, the club are planning what to do after Clay and Tig admitted that Clay had been having sex with the two dead Mexicans at the warehouse. Juice and Jax theorise that Hale is going to borrow a forensic team for the Lodi PD. Otto "Big Otto" Delaney, an imprisoned member of SAMCRO's sister works for the Lodi PD and perhaps she can let SAMCRO know if a forensic team is coming their way. Clay says that he is going to speak to Chief Wayne Unser, the corrupt Chief of Charming PD who the club have a long history with and see if he can get Hale to back down.

Back in Church, Juice explains that the forensic team will be in Charming tomorrow. Clay says the only way to stop them is to divert their attention with another murder. Jax is unsure, saying that Hale is already on high alert and it could bring more trouble with the Nords and the Mayans. Clay insists they need to do it to protect Tig and Jax eventually relents. Tig says they should kill some Nords and Clay agrees. Tig leaves to go and set things up but Jax stops him. He says he has a plan to fix their issue without killing anyone. He says they should call in a favour with Skeeter, an undertaker who can easily be bought out; Jax states that all they need is a body and a crime scene for a murder, of which they can fabricate. Clay agrees, telling Jax to not make him regret going with his plan.

Jax, Chibs, Juice and Half-Sack head to Skeeter's crematorium. The club explain that they need two bodies from Skeeter but he tells them he isn't interested in a deal right now. He says he has quit gambling and doesn't want SAMCRO's money. He admits that there is something they can do for him, however. He wants them to set him up with Emily Duncan, a crow eater and Jax says to consider it done.

Jax, Chibs and Juice head back to the cemetery, they find that Half-Sack has finished digging up the dead body, unfortunately, he's quite a big guy. Nevertheless they load the bodies in to two cars and head to Lodi.

Things turn sour when Jax and Chibs are pulled over after a cop notices some damage to their car. Juice and Half-Sack are behind and Juice thinks quickly and rear ends the cop car, the two then bailing and running from the two cops as they give chase. This gives Jax and Chibs ample time to burst the tyres on the cop car and steal their radio. They then head back to their car and pull a quick u-turn, driving back down the highway and picking up Juice and Half-Sack as they leave the cops in the dust.

The four then finish setting their murder scene, with Jax adding some finishing touches, making it look like a Nord and a Mayan murder.

As they had back to Charming, they spot a hot rod at a gas station, Jax recognises it as the same guy who cut them off earlier, subsequently damaging their vehicle and getting them pulled over by the cops. They head inside the gas station and Jax beats the guy down, who then pulls a gun and starts firing. Jax wrestles with the driver before the gas station employee steps in, killing the driver with an axe.

"Fun Town"[]

The club are at a local carnival. They briefly cross paths with Elliott Oswald, a local business man with whom the club have some history with. His wife, Karen, is less than pleased to see Clay and the club, knowing they are bad news.

The club regroup that evening to meet the True IRA for a gun deal, whilst they wait, Clay asks everyone's opinion on Half-Sack's prospect period. Everyone is in agreement that Half-Sack is doing an amazing job and is an asset to the club. Clay calls him over as their shipment arrives. Disassembled guns inside of oil barrels. Michael McKeavey, the driver of the truck and IRA member is frustrated to hear that the Sons won't be placing another order with the IRA for a few months whilst they recover from the warehouse fire. McKeavey says they have no choice but to look for another buyer.

The club agree to front McKeavey his money to keep their business arrangements, Chibs is ordered by Clay to go with McKeavey whilst he makes a trip up north, Clay wants to know who he is meeting.

Elliott drives in to the lot, demanding to speak with Clay.

Later in Church, the rest of the club learn about Oswald's situation. His 13 year old daughter was raped and beaten the previous night, and he wants SAMCRO to find the perpetrator. Some members of the club are unsure about assisting Oswald as he has no real affiliation to SAMCRO and it isn't their business. Clay is able to rally the troops however, and everyone is in agreement they will assist Oswald. The club believe that the Nords are a good place to start to try and find the rapist.

Juice and Half-Sack head out on some TM business when he receives a call saying he needs to go back to TM as the police want to question everyone at the carnival last night. He tells Half-Sack that Clay wants him to follow Deputy Chief David Hale around, as he is also looking for the rapist.

Unable to find Darby, the club are frustrated, Juice comes through with a lead however, a Nord who has served time for sex crimes who was at the carnival the previous night. Gemma calls, telling Clay that Darby is at St. Thomas hospital. Clay, Tig and Bobby head to St. Thomas whilst Juice is told to prepare the guns for the deal later. Tig also hands him some "vitamins" which Juice scoffs down.

Juice starts to preps the guns and continues to take Tig's "vitamins"; before he knows it, he is out cold on the floor.

Juice awakens on the streets of Charming with Hale looming over him. Juice realises he is wearing an adult diaper and little else. Hale tells him he will write him up for indecent exposure unless he moves. Juice limps away, very confused.

"Patch Over"[]

The club are concerned to learn the ATF is in Charming. Clay states that they don't even know the reason an agent is there, none of SAMCRO have had any legal trouble in over five years. Jax theorises that Hale is responsible as he knew the warehouse was theirs and wasn't able to follow through on it. The club realise they need to get their guns off the property. Jax suggests calling in a favor with "Jury" White, President of the Devil's Tribe Motorcycle Club, an allied MC out in Nevada. The club agree Jax and Bobby will go by themselves.

Clay speaks to Half-Sack, Tig and Juice, he states that Devil's Tribe will be patching over to join the Sons. He says the whole club is going up there with their gun supply.

Tig and Juice head to steal one of Unser's trucks to use to transport the guns. They give the guard dog some drugs as Tig voices how upset he is to not be getting pussy in Nevada. The dog skulks off and the pair enter and head towards Unser's truck. Suddenly, the dog turns feral and charges at the pair, they sprint to the truck and Tig is bitten by the dog. Tig is furious as Juice admits he fed the dog crank.

The following morning, Tig and Juice finally make it to Nevada, Tig is devastated to learn that they missed the party as he sees various women draped over his brothers.

The following morning Clay receives a call from Jax, telling him that Mayans are on their way to Indian Hills, the club arm up and prepare to fight.

The club are able to hold off the Mayans without any real casualties.

"AK-51"[]

At the table, with the club whole again. Juice has returned from Nevada and Chibs has returned from up North. Chibs brings news about their Irish contacts and explains they need to pay them on time or they will buy from the Russians instead. The Sons will also continue to sell guns to the Niners at a discounted price. Jax and Piney also made a sale of some weapons to a local militia earlier in the day.

Half-Sack suddenly bursts in to Church and tells Clay he is needed outside. The club head outside and find Agent June Stahl of the ATF and Hale. Stahl asks who the owner of the garage is and Clay admits it is him, he is immediately arrested. Clay asks what the charge is and Stahl says he isn't being charged yet, she is just looking for some information about Nate Meineke. Clay states he doesn't know who that is and Stahl informs him that he is responsible for holding up a prison transport and killing three people. The last call on his phone is from TM.

The club scramble to keep things in check. Piney tells them that Nate has reached out and told Piney his location. Jax tells Piney that he has to setup a meet so that they can take care of the militants, they lead the feds right to the Son's front door. Bobby also announces that the feds have a warrant to search the clubhouse. Piney is sent back to the cabin with Opie whilst Jax attempts to handle the situation.

Jax tells Bobby to meet with Laroy and collect the money for the guns, they will have them by the end of the day. Chibs questions how Jax is going to get the guns out of the clubhouse with the pending search warrant.

Jax strikes gold with a genius idea to use a septic tank to get the guns out of the clubhouse. A company is at the clubhouse clearing out the drains. Not all is well however, as Bobby returns with news that Laroy is refusing to buy the guns due to the heat associated with them.

The warrant finally comes through, hordes of armed ATF agents storm the clubhouse and quickly detain all the Sons. The Sons laugh to themselves as they know the feds won't find anything they can be charged with.

The feds leave empty handed and Chibs, Juice and Half-Sack head out to retrieve the guns from the septic tank.

"The Pull"[]

At the table, the club have almost pulled together enough money for the IRA guns, they are very close to the $200k they need. The club briefly discuss the various ways they have pooled together the money before Clay announces they can get the remaining money from Luann, if Gemma talks to her first. She is making a lot of money from the porn industry. Jax also announces that his son is getting out of the hospital today, the club are excited and pleased for Jax.

Jax returns to the clubhouse and informs the club of his crank discovery, he assisted at a roadside accident and discovered the drugs on the driver, he suspects it is the Nords. Juice confirms if it definitely Nord product and Tig says they should teach Darby a lesson. Jax says that he and Opie will go and speak to the driver of the truck and see what he has to say about the meth. Clay says that Luann is also fronting the club $55k, meaning they only need $15k more by the end of the day. Chibs tells Half-Sack that if he ever wants to get patched in, he needs to find them the remaining money.

Juice and Half-Sack head out on TM business, whilst out, Half-Sack spots an ambulance, he races to it and Juice questions what he is doing, he tells Juice he is getting his top rocker, Half-Sack dives in the ambulance as the driver exits and speeds away in it, leaving Juice in disbelief.

At the clubhouse, the club mock Half-Sack for stealing an ambulance, claming they can easily sell it for $100k. When asked where he can sell it to, he isn't able to answer, realising the many flaws in his plan. The club laugh at Half-Sack's expense and Clay tells Chibs to get rid of the ambulance after dark. Jax soon arrives, he briefly wonders why there is an ambulance in the garage but upon learning Half-Sack is responsible, he asks no further questions. Clay asks if Jax was able to learn anything from the truck driver, to which he quickly tells them about how he learned the Nords are dealing crank in Pope, where the driver fills up his tanker with diesel, Opie and Jax stole the tanker, and Jax flipped it to Unser at a cheap price. Meaning they now have enough money for the IRA.

Chibs, Juice, Jax, Opie and Half-Sack soon arrive at the bar where Clay and Tig were meeting the IRA. They learn that a shooting went down and Cameron Hayes, the Sons' new contact after McKeavey was killed by port commissioner Brenan Hefner for not wanting to pay more tax has also just been shot by Mayans who attacked the bar. The barman says he will take care of the Mayan body whilst the rest of the club get Cameron back to the clubhouse, in Half-Sack's very convenient ambulance.

Later that night, Chibs and Juice try their best to patch up Cameron.

"Hell Followed"[]

Chibs and Juice continue to work on Cameron, eventually being able to pull one of the slugs from him causing a fountain of blood to spray out of the wound. Tig and Gemma rush in before the pair swiftly leave the clubhouse.

Cameron eventually comes to and is horrified to see that Juice has his finger buried in his ass cheek, essentially keeping him alive. Chibs soon returns and Cameron tells Chibs that Hefner must be dealt with and dealt with swiftly. On Monday he is going to set dogs loose on cargo and the IRA shipment will be discovered. Chibs assures him that the club will deal with it.

Tara Knowles, Jax's on and off old lady who is also a doctor soon arrives at the clubhouse, she immediately has Gemma feed Cameron some pills and then tells Juice she is going to plug the wound his finger is currently holding. Tara is able to stabilise the bleeding and Juice takes his leave, he is happy to hear from Tara that he saved Cameron's life.

At the table, Clay addresses SAMCRO and the other charters who have come down. He states that what happened the previous night can never happen again, no more bodies can drop in Charming. Tig speaks up and says that SAMCRO did not attempt to kill the Nords, it was Alvarez who tried to kill Clay and Darby. However, if they retaliate, war is certain. Clay admits that he sat down with Alvarez, causing shock to ripple across the table. Clay says that he made a deal with Alvarez, the Sons will sell guns to the Mayans and all beefs will be ended, in Charming and out of state, no Sons will have issues with Mayans anymore. Juice enquires about the Sons deal with the Niners and selling guns to them, but Jax insists they have no real loyalty to the Niners and they also buy guns from other sources. Bobby admits he has concern that a deal with the Mayans could trigger something else with the Niners. Tig says that the Mayans still tried to kill him but Clay says that debt will be settled too, by another charter, he asks if Happy will do the deed and he of course agrees. The club vote on the deal and the majority are on board.

As the peace celebration rages on, another matter is bought to the rest of the club by Juice and Chibs. Cameron has stated that Hefner needs to die before Monday, or the most recent gun shipment will be taken. Cameron has offered the inital payment back and a free month of guns if SAMCRO handle it. The club briefly debate it but realise the pros outweigh the cons and the hit must be done. Opie is quick to step up, insisting that he can get it done. Clay agrees, Jax, Opie and Bobby are to carry out the hit.

"Capybara"[]

Clay receives a call from the SAMCRO lawyer, he announces that Luann is clear of any charges, but Otto isn't. In a final meeting with Stahl, he attacked her, smashing her face in to a table and breaking her nose, proving he is loyal to the club. The celebration is very short lived as suddenly Juice sees an army of armed police at the front door of the clubhouse, within seconds Stahl has strutted in as the club are forced to the floor. Bobby is grabbed and told he is under arrest for the murder of Hefner.

At the table, the club is very concerned about Bobby being arrested, Jax insists he is sure there was no witness and nobody could've seen them carrying out the murder. The club notice the mysterious absence of Opie and minds begin to race as Tig states that only two other people saw the murder, one is in jail and the other is in the wind. This causes Jax to jump to his feet as he and Tig almost begin to fight at Tig's accusation. Piney also steps up, saying Opie isn't here is because he doesn't know what is going on. Jax heads out to find him.

Juice arrives to speak to Clay and Tig with some disturbing news, he has just checked out Opie's bank records and seen that a large chunk of his debt has been paid off with a federal wire transfer. Clay tells Juice to not say a word to anyone else about his discovery.

Jax meets up with Opie as the pair are going to travel to the clubhouse to clear Opie's name. They arrive at the clubhouse and everyone is happy to see Opie, they head in to Church. Opie speaks, telling the table that Stahl tried to set him up as a rat, he doesn't know who the witness is but it isn't him. Donna Winston was also targeted but she turned down Stahl's deal, wanting to stay loyal to Opie. Tig then enters as Opie finishes his piece, he asks if he is good with the club and Clay confirms he is, banging the gavel as everyone stands to leave except for Tig and Clay.

"The Sleep of Babies"[]

At the table, Clay expresses concern about the club's current lack of cash. If they need to fund Bobby's legal defense, they are in trouble. He suggests selling the club's personal gun surplus to the Mayans and there is a level of disagreement. Clay says that if they sell the Mayans the guns, it will appear as a goodwill gesture and they will get a good payout. Jax protests but Clay admtis he is out of ideas. They formulate a plan and will do the deal in two separate locations, Tig and Opie drop off the guns in one location and Jax and Clay pick up the cash in another. Piney wants in also but Clay refuses, causing Piney to angrily storm out of Church.

At Able's coming home party, Juice witnesses Tara angrily leaving the house, Jax asks Juice to tail her to make sure she gets home safe, he obliges and heads out.

With news of a shooting, SAMCRO race downtown, they find Donna dead. Opie arrives at the traffic lights where he sees the bloodied corpse of Donna, he drops to his knees and sobs as he holds her. Chibs and Jax drag him away.

Chibs and Juice later drink silently at the clubhouse.

"The Revelator"[]

At the table tensions run high for obvious reasons. Clay tells the table that he is responsible, organising the deal with the Mayans that led to Donna's demise, others speak up and say they all agreed on the deal. Piney says they track down Laroy and kill him and becomes enraged at Clay, saying if it happened to him there would be instant retaliation, Piney leaves and Jax goes after him.

Rosen drops by to speak to SAMCRO, he says the name of the witness is being released and the ATF is presenting evidence agaisnt Opie for his part in the murder of Hefner, he expects it to be a resident or neighbor that saw the hit and if Opie comes in, he probably won't be leaving again. Clay reminds Rosen that Donna'a funeral is tomorrow and Rosen says he will do what he can to delay and reminds Clay that his payment is due soon. The club decide they need to deal with the witness before they can testify against Opie or Bobby. They realise the witness is under watch 24/7 and it will not be easy getting to them. The club agree they will contact Trammel to try and get information about safehouses in San Joaqiun. Jax receives a call from a frantic Half-Sack who has been tailing Piney, he tells Jax that Piney is heading in to a Niners bar, probably looking for Laroy, another issue for SAMCRO's ever growing list of problems. Jax and Chibs head out to retrieve him whilst Tig, Juice and Clay go and speak to Trammel.

The trio track down Trammel and he is so taken aback by their request for trying to kill a federal witness he actually laughs at them, telling them no amount of money would be enough. Clay lays it out for Trammel, if the witness lives, they all go down, including their associates, meaning him. Trammel all but agrees, telling them they will need a case number and the witness name will not be enough.

They try Oswald, believing him to have insider information, Clay threatens Oswald with the knife that has his prints on that killed the carnival worker months ago, saying it would be a slam dunk case against Oswald. Oswald wants to know what Clay wants, he explains he needs information that judges would have access to.

Juice and Oswald soon return with the case number they are looking for. Juice says that he called Happy who knows an "alarming" about about safehouses and witnesses, Juice explains what Happy said about security and Tig jumps in saying that he, Chibs and Happy will do the hit, assuring Clay he will be fine. Juice is ordered to get the case number to Trammel and find that safehouse as soon as possible.

Jax exits Church and starts speaking to Juice about the witness, Juice reveals to them that it is a 17 year old girl, Jax immediately takes off as Clay yells for him to come back.

The following day, the club ride with Donna's funeral procession to the graveyard. Many associates, friends and family are also present. Jax arrives late, looking worse for wear, Tara stands and places his kutte on him, before kissing him passionately. Jax briefly pays his respects to Donna before taking off.

Season 2[]

J

While SAMCRO was locked up in county jail due to the botched raid on L.O.A.N. Clay bartered for protection. Of the two tasks that needed to be completed, Juice was volunteered to draw out Dion, an inmate under protective custody, by soliciting sexual favors. Juice was punched in the ribs to fake an injury and sent to the infirmary, Dion followed. Left alone, Juice managed to get away long enough to open the secured door and allow the other inmates to extract revenge. Shortly there after Juice returns to the yard but is stabbed repeatedly in the back with a shiv. It was said that the stabbing missed his internal organs and he will be okay in time.

In the episode "The Culling", he was released from the hospital and was seen with everyone else when the club went on lockdown.

Season 3[]

In the fifth episode of the third season, Juice is attempting to sell pharmaceutical drugs SAMCRO received from Piney's dealer friend. When trying to sell some stimulants to an eccentric friend named Chicken, Juice is severely beaten by the Calaveras MC and his cut is stolen. His cut is returned in the episode "The Push" when SAMCRO makes a deal with the Mayans MC. Juice exacts a vengeful beat-down on the leader of the Calaveras MC, who ordered his attack. He went to Belfast to find Jax's son Abel. When SAMCRO goes on a protection run with SAMBEL in an attempt to get close to Jimmy, Jax tells Juice and Happy to keep an eye on O'Neill, SAMBEL Sergent at Arms. When they see that Jimmy's crew locked the Sons in the barn, they attempt to shoot the lock off but the truck holding the guns the Sons are protecting crash through the door and explodes killing members of the True IRA and SAMBEL. The Sons suspect O'Neill and tortures him for information with the help of Sean Casey. After a show down between the Sons and Jimmy's crew Juice watches along with the rest of SAMCRO as Clay kills McGee, SAMBEL President, for betraying the club. When they finally get Abel back they head back to Charming and are now trying to find Salazar to get Tara back. When they find Mexican woman who doesn't speak English, it is revealed that Juice, despite being Hispanic Puerto Rican, doesn't speak a word of Spanish. “I grew up in Queens, I speak more Yiddish than Spanish,” he said.

Season 4[]

In the beginning of episode 1, Juice is one of many SAMCRO members released from prison. He also stated that he's getting Opie a 20 day pass to “clear passage”, a colonic spa (the weed shop), of which he is a part owner. Juice later accompanies Chibs, Bobby, and Happy to retrieve guns from the Russian Mob but only to turn on them and kill them, making this the first time he has killed someone during the series for SAMCRO. Unknown to them, one of the people they killed turned out to be an undercover FBI agent.

Juice is targeted by AUSA Potter as a potential weak link in the club, as he discover his father is African-American, making Juice half-black instead of fully Puerto Rican as he claimed. Potter makes Roosevelt confront Juice with this fact, pointing out that if this became common knowledge Juice would be expelled from SAMCRO. Because of this fear, Juice begins to work with Roosevelt. Roosevelt tells Juice that he wants a sample of the cocaine that SAMCRO is trafficking so he can begin to build his case against the Real IRA and the Cartel. Potter says that he wants the cartel and the IRA more than the club so he will let the MC survive if Juice participates.

While SAMCRO and the Mayans guarded some cocaine bricks for Romeo at Elliot's warehouse, Juice takes one of the bricks and hides it in the wooded area nearby so he can later take it to Roosevelt. The next day, the club realizes that it is gone and suspect that prospects Filthy Phil and Ratboy know something. After putting the prospects through several violent tests, Juice starts to feel guilty about the blame being put on the prospects. Juice offers the prospects a chance to put the cocaine brick back and everyone separates to wait and see if the brick is put back. Juice runs out to get the brick of cocaine and starts to bring it back to the warehouse when Miles catches him with it. Miles pulls a gun on Juice and they fight, Miles shoots Juice in the leg and Juice shoots back ultimately killing Miles. Juice then irrationally frames Miles as the thief.

Sheriff Roosevelt is instructed by AUSA Potter to meet with Juice to collect the sample but then actually arrest him for possession to further "motivate" him to assist the AUSA's investigation. At first, Roosevelt refuses but is threatened by Potter and ends up arresting Juice. They press him to cooperate telling him that they will arrest the SAMCRO members present at the gun buy but won’t shut down the Sons Of Anarchy completely. As Juice continues to worry about being alone and losing his patch unless he rats and the fact that he has now killed a fellow member, his mental state starts to slip. When Juice returns to the Clubhouse looking apprehensive, Chibs tells Clay that he noticed somethings wrong with Juice. Clay meets with Juice and gives him a "Men of Mayhem" patch and tells Juice that he was impressed with the way he dealt with the Russians and Mayans. Feeling guilty and thinking there is no way out of his predicament, Juice disappears for the remainder of the episode, and later attempts suicide by hanging himself from a tree. He survives the attempt due to the tree branch breaking and saving his life.

Juice continues to struggle with his devotion to the club and the predicament he is in with his father's heritage. After suffering another conflict Juice finally admits to Chibs that his father is black, who tells him that it doesn’t matter, as long as his birth certificate said he was Hispanic before being imprisoned once again. (later on in the season when Jax finds out about the leverage he say that he would change the “by-law” about having no black members) Juice later got exonerated due to the RICO case failing.

Season 5[]

Juice tearfully admits to Clay about his involvement in the RICO case against the club, stealing the brick of coke and framing Miles for it. Later, he admits this and his African-American heritage to Jax, who offers him a pardon in exchange for incriminating evidence against Clay for the Nomad home invasions. Juice agrees and later goes to Clay's apartment looking for the papers that would prove his involvement, but before he could do so Clay arrives. Clay, feeling helpless, says to Juice that he is grateful for the way he is helping him, and asks him to watch his back. Not knowing what Clay has done and how he deserves what’s coming, Juice feels guilt-ridden again. He goes to Jax and asks him what would happen to Clay if he found the documents. Jax admits it would be the same thing that would happen to him if he didn't do what he was told. In "To Thine Own Self", Juice is given a deadline to find the documents. He rummages through Clay's house and manages to find them in an air vent. Jax instructs him to put them back and make sure Clay is not left in the house alone, while he gets the others. He is waiting with Clay, Tig, and Chibs when Bobby calls telling them that Jax has been kidnapped. They leave, but Clay claims he has to take his medication. When Jax returns, he tells the Club he was picked up by Romeo to discuss a new deal allowing the Mayans and Triads to take over muling their cocaine and selling their big guns respectively. Juice, like everyone, votes yes on the deal. After the vote, Juice goes back to Clay's house with Jax, Chibs, and Bobby to find the documents gone. Realizing Clay moved them, he apologizes to Jax, but is merely punched and sent home. When Clay is voted out of SAMCRO, Juice helps him move all his stuff out as he will be leaving Charming. He rewards Juice for all his help by giving him a gun he greatly values. At the season finale, it is shown Juice gave the gun to Jax, who then used it to frame Clay for the murder of Damon Pope. He is shown saddened by Clay's arrest, but relieved that Jax will not out him.

Season 7[]

Ten days after the double homicide of Tara and Eli Roosevelt, Juice remains on the lam from the club as Gemma hides him out at Wendy's apartment. Unser finds out about this when he notices Juices duffel bag and SAMCRO cut in Wendy's closet, but doesn't say anything to the club. Wendy also finds out about this, and helps Unser and Gemma keep Juice off the grid. Juice is eventually recaptured by SAMCRO when he attempts to broker a deal with Marcus Alvarez to offer intel on SAMCRO in exchange for money and passage across the Mexican border. Marcus instead locks him up in a supply closet along with Nero Padilla and gives him over to Jax and SAMCRO once they help out Alvarez with a favor.

Jax gives Juice back his cut and Juice fires his gun off at police motorcycles and initiates a high-speed chase in order to be imprisoned at Stockton so that he can get inside and murder Henry Lin on behalf of SAMCRO with Ron Tully aiding him in the murder by sending him a shiv and making Juice his "prison bitch" to keep him close. Juice interrogates Lin and finds out that Charles Barosky was the one responsible for ratting SAMCRO out to the Chinese for monetary purposes. Juice records the confession and murders Lin by stabbing him in the neck while he's chained in the boiler room. Jax meets with Juice at the prison, who tells Jax that Barosky was the rat and confesses everything that happened on the day of Tara's death. Jax is stunned at the revelation of his mother being the killer and promises to make Juice's death quick and painless for his honesty.

In "Red Rose", Juice is raped by the remaining members of the Triads while imprisoned at Stockton, who want to use Juice in order to murder Tully. Juice is later offered a chance for protection by Ryu Tom and the remaining incarcerated Triads in exchange for him killing Tully. However, Juice knew Tully's death would impact SAMCRO's relations in prison and he has nothing left to live for anyway, no club, no family, and his spirit is broken. At the break room, Juice confesses that they want him to murder Tully but he instead slips Tully a knife and requests Tully kill him once he finishes his cherry pie. Tully's men then initiate a prison fight as a distraction as Tully tells Juice "you went out good, sweetheart" before stabbing him multiple times in the neck with the knife, killing him.

Trivia[]

  • Juice is the seventh main character to die in the series, being the first of three to die in "Red Rose".
  • Juice has appeared in 83 out of 92 episodes of the series, although IMDB lists it as 90 episodes.
  • Juice shows signs of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder while hiding from the club early in Season 7. When Wendy comes home early from rehab, she opens her fridge to find everything neatly arranged and stacked by product (example, two different stacks of cheese slices, one appearing to be American, the other Swiss or Mozzarella), and her previously messy apartment spotless. Possibly OCD with rapid cycling mania, hinted at by his comments that when he is alone the noise in his head is too loud and he gets lost in nothing.
  • Considering Juice's conversation to himself and reminiscing his life in Queens, Juice may have been from the neighborhoods of Ozone Park or Woodhaven.
  • Despite being of Puerto Rican heritage, Juice does not speak Spanish, stating that he 'speaks better Yiddish'.
