Biography[]

Background[]

As a young woman, Emily grew up with her mother, Diana, and her sister, Erin Thomas. Erin and Emily shared little in common growing up, Emily notes that Erin would regularly be gone days at a time, unable to hold down a job or a boyfriend. The one thing they had in common was their poor relationship with Diana.

Whilst in high school, Emily dated Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes, the golden boy of Santo Padre who had big dreams of becoming a doctor. He came from a proud, but damaged family. Emily and EZ began to build their life together and Emily was soon pregnant with their child.

Everything changed however when EZ was sent to prison for accidentally murdering a police officer. EZ had been chasing whom he believes to be the killer of his mother, Marisol Reyes. Heartbroken by EZ's reckless actions and knowing his life was over, Emily aborted their baby and prepared herself to never see EZ again.

Putting her simple life behind her, Emily traded it all in when she married Miguel Galindo, who on the surface, appeared to be a well to do business man in Santo Padre. This is however a front, Miguel was the leader of the Galindo Cartel, of which he inherited from his father. Emily now lives a luxurious life on the hills of Santo Padre in a sprawling mansion. Emily and Miguel have a son, named Cristobal, after Miguel's deceased brother.

Emily's life was flipped upside down after she learns that EZ is out of prison, and is now a member of the Mayans Motorcycle Club, Santo Padre, of which his brother, Angel Reyes, is also a member. Emily willingly becomes more drawn in to Miguel's other, and far more dangerous life. Actively taking part in it which in tow, brings her and EZ back together, as the cartel and the club do business together. Emily also learns that EZ is still determined to find out the truth about what happened to his mother, and unfortunately for Emily, the truth may be closer to home than she wants to believe.

Season 1[]

"Perro/Oc"[]

Eight years after her relationship with Ezekiel "EZ" Reyes ended, Emily is revealed to be married to Galindo Cartel senior leader and Mayan M.C. associate Miguel Galindo, with whom she has an infant son. EZ is not yet aware of this after he sees her briefly. Flashbacks revealed their love while attending Stanford University and that EZ ended their three year relationship during a prison visit due to his assumption that he was about to serve a 20 year prison sentence. Though she doesn't speak of it, she hinted during the prison visit that she was pregnant after showing him what appears to be an ultrasound of their unborn child.

Emily has dinner with her family. Miguel Galindo, leader of the Galindo Cartel is her husband and together they have a young son named Cristobal. Emily notices that Miguel has been off, he says it is just some problems in "the other world" alluding to his cartel life. The pair separate and Emily gets in a car with their son as Miguel leaves in another car. She doesn't notice that her vehicle is being followed.

"Escorpión/Dzec"[]

Emily's car is soon hijacked. She, the driver and the nanny are held at gunpoint by armed and masked people. They take her son from her as she sobs and the driver is shot in the head. She helplessly chases the car as it speeds away with her son inside.

Miguel attempts to comfort Emily after learning of the horrifying news that his son has been kidnapped by Los Olvidados. Miguel assures Emily that he will find Cristobal, he will do everything in his power and use all his contacts. Emily is upset as Miguel's worlds have now crossed and it has had tragic consequences after Miguel assured her the two worlds wouldn't collide. Emily wants to know answers from now on, Miguel agrees.

Miguel returns home and is immediately confronted by Emily, she states that she has seen the propaganda video posted by Los Olvidados. She is terrified that if Miguel retaliates, Los Olvidados will hurt Cristobal. Devante enters with news from Nestor and he ushers Emily out of the room.

Emily sees Miguel exit the room and attempts to speak to him but he ignores her and exits the house. Dita Galindo, Miguel's mother approaches Emily and tells her to leave Miguel, he is exhausted from his efforts in trying to find Cristobal.

Emily later goes to Felipe Reyes' butcher shop. Felipe is the father of EZ. Emily and EZ haven't seen each other in many years, since EZ's time in prison. Emily wants information about her son's kidnapping, she goes on to explain that Miguel won't tell her anything, EZ is a member of the Mayans and can pass information to her that Miguel doesn't want her to hear. Emily is worried about Miguel retaliating and EZ confirms it already has, Miguel has had a father and son killed and their bodies dumped in the town centre. Emily begins to sob and quickly leaves as EZ says he won't let anything happen to Cristobal.

"Búho/Muwan"[]

Emily watches the latest propaganda video from Los Olvidados, they are filming the corpse that Miguel had dumped in the town square, Nestor and his team can be seen off to the side observing, unaware they are being watched. Emily begins to cry and shatters her phone on the floor.

Emily speaks to Dita and says she wants to go to the square to try and find some information. Dita says that Miguel will not allow it but Emily pulls on her heart strings and the pair head out to the square. Once there, Emily attempts to interrogate Dita further, Dita reveals that the retaliation was Devante's call but Emily still blames Miguel. Emily realises there is nothing to be found in the square and the pair leave.

Miguel later speaks to Emily, he tells her that he knows she went to the square looking for answers. Miguel begins to cry and apologises to Emily.

"Bat/Zotz"[]

Miguel, Dante and Nestor are having a strategic meeting. Emily arrives and wishes to have a say. She explains the strategy that Los Olvidados are using to grow their influence so quickly. Devante questions how any of this information is useful and Emily retorts that this is precisely the reason why the cartel are losing ground. She wants to use the Santa Madre parade later to try and make the Los Olvidados look like the real enemy.

They take a risk on Emily's idea and make plans to vandalise the church in the name of Los Olvidados. Devante thanks Emily for her great idea.

Before heading to the Santa Madre parade; Dita offers some advice to Emily in terms of how she should tread carefully now this is her life. Emily insists she isn't too involved with the cartel and just wants her son back but Dita isn't so sure.

They arrive at the parade, whilst the church is vacant, Nestor and his team vandalise it with Los Olvidados propaganda, they also murder the nun who was seen helping Adelita in the video and leave her inside the church, making it look like Los Olvidados again. Emily is horrified to see the dead nun as none of this was part of her plan, as the crowd realise what has happened Emily is caught in a stampede on the way out of the church.

"Uch/Opossum"[]

Miguel comes to visit Emily in the hospital, she is horrified about what Miguel had done to the nun and says nothing to him before being wheeled away again.

Emily receives a surprise visit from EZ, who has heard of the stampede at the parade and wants to see her. Emily explains it was mostly her fault as she ran in to the crowd. EZ questions why the Los Olvidados would kill a nun and Emily angrily reminds him that they kidnapped Cristobal and they are dangerous. She lies and explains to EZ that Miguel has given a lot of money to the church, Los Olvidados must have figured that it would hurt him greatly and tarnish his name. Just before EZ leaves, Emily asks him if he's heard anymore about Cristobal, EZ says no.

Devante comes to see Emily before she is discharges, he attempts to reassure her that everything he does is for the family, he tells her again her play with the rebels was very smart. She must also learn that she can't pick and choose in this life, it's all in or nothing. Emily tells Devante that since Cristobal's kidnapping; Miguel has been a different man, more ruthless and calculating. Devante tells Emily that she should cease keeping all secrets from Miguel, indicating EZ's visit earlier and that Emily is more important than she realises.

After being released from hospital, Emily goes to EZ's trailer and waits for him to return home. EZ arrives and Emily apologises for being here; knowing it puts EZ in danger. Emily admits to EZ that when he went inside and she had their child aborted, she did it out of spite, to hurt EZ for hurting her. She now feels that Cristobal being taken is some sort of revenge for what she did. EZ comforts a severely distressed Emily and Angel Reyes soon arrives, EZ goes to chase after her but Angel restrains him.

Emily returns home and is immediately interrogated by Miguel, he tells her he knows EZ came to the hospital and thinks she was with him again this evening. Emily smacks Miguel after they begin to argue and he accuses her of letting Cristobal be taken, a physical fight ensues as Miguel chokes Emily on the sofa, they begin to kiss and make love.

"Gato/Mis"[]

Emily remarks to Devante that Dita is visibly becoming more annoyed with her for getting involved in cartel business.

Nestor announces to Miguel, Devante and Emily that they have a location for the Los Olvidados camp after one of their street kids payed off. Nestor unveils a map and begins to plan. Dita arrives and says that Miguel has a phone call from someone called "Adelita". Devante quickly dials in and the woman on the other end speaks. She explains that she represents Los Olvidados and has the demands to return Cristobal. Adelita demands 7 million pesos in cryptocurrency and that Miguel crosses the border to Mexico alone and then she will tell him where his son is. After the call ends, Miguel tells Emily to prepare the money and for Nestor to hit the location they have for the camp and to kill everyone.

Miguel, Emily, Devante and Dita travel to the border as Miguel prepares to cross to retrieve Cristobal. Miguel appears again soon, clutching Cristobal and they are all relieved to see him. Before he can make it to the gate however he is taken aside by border patrol agents as they all impatiently wait.

Devante, Emily and Dita wait for hours. Well in to the night and Miguel still hasn't returned.

"Cucaracha/K'uruch"[]

Devante, Emily and Dita wait all night, through to the following morning and Miguel still hasn't been released. Devante approaches Emily and says they have gotten no where with the lawyer on trying to free Miguel. They eventually return home.

Nestor arrives at the house and announces that Miguel has finally arrived and the family are overjoyed to see the safe return of him and Cristobal.

The family are enjoying their evening when suddenly the lights in the house go out. Sensing something is wrong Miguel sends Nestor to investigate and quickly follows, outside he is apprehended by armed police. He stares sadly as Emily finally exits the house, knowing dark times are ahead.

"Rata/Ch'o"[]

Emily walks through the house as the FBI begin to seize goods. She is approached by an agent who appears to sympathise with her before asking if Cristobal was kidnapped, Emily affirms and the agent quickly changes her tone; ordering Emily's arrest for not reporting the abduction of a child. She is cuffed and taken away.

Emily is bought to a station for interrogation, as she is led through the hallways she sees Miguel in his own room and calls out to him but he ushered away. She is bought to a room and the detectives question her, she refuses to answer and asks for a lawyer and to see Cristobal. She says that they know she hasn't done anything wrong and nor has Miguel; they have no evidence. The detectives ask her about her relationship with EZ and if she had an abortion of their child. Emily becomes enraged as another man enters the room; chastising the other detectives for their treatment of her, he sends them away. The man shockingly explains to Emily that he wants the cartel to work with the government.

Potter returns to Emily later after speaking to Miguel. Emily mocks Potter, realising he isn't playing in to his hands. Potter asks again about EZ but Emily shrugs it off as she was just in love. Emily holds strong and says she will never turn on Miguel. Miguel finally plays his trump card, he shows pictures of Cristobal in less than ideal conditions. Potter smugly explains that the case doesn't even need to go to court, him filing it will be enough to have Cristobal taken away.

Emily is given time to read through the evidence. She is horrified to see that EZ has written testimonies for it; describing the club's criminal deeds, he is working for the feds too. Emily is then told she can see her lawyer.

Miguel and Emily are later freed and allowed to leave with Cristobal. Emily tells Miguel that all of their intel was fake but it doesn't matter now that Miguel has signed the deal, the government own the cartel. She doesn't reveal to Miguel the truth about EZ, knowing it would mean death for him. Miguel explains to Emily that they don't have everyone; cryptically explaining devil soldiers but doesn't reveal anymore.

"Serpiente/Chikchan"[]

Devante and Miguel meet with Emily. Devante is horrified when Miguel explains that he is going to work with Los Olvidados to keep the government at bay; they will give them just enough information to make them feel like they're in control but the majority of their work will still be secret. Devante tries to convince Miguel that allying himself with Los Olvidados is a mistake and that allying with Potter is the safest option for them.

The club and cartel head out to the casino to meet with Miguel for the first time since he was released from custody. They sit down and he begins explaining that he has signed a deal, similar to one that his father signed 10 years ago. He goes on to explain that while he was detained at the border he was approached by someone else and offered a deal, that person was Adelita, better known as Luisa. The club are astounded at what they are seeing and hearing. Luisa then addresses everyone in attendance and her and Miguel confirm they are no longer enemies but are in fact partners.

After the meeting, Emily approaches EZ alone and tells him she knows about his deal with the DEA. Emily threatens EZ and tells him that she will say nothing as long as his business doesn't hurt her family. Outside; Miguel explains he wants to speak with Devante privately, Marcus Alvarez, founder of the Mayans leaves with Emily.

"Cuervo/Tz'ikb'uul"[]

Dita speaks to Emily about the truth surrounding Cristobal's demise, Miguel has since learned that his brother was never slain by the cartel, it was all a lie created by Devante, his brother died of pneumonia. Dita asks Emily if she knew but Emily tells her she only found out once Miguel wanted to tell her. She tells Dita that she made an external choice and has to live with the repercussions.

Miguel and Emily answer the front door to see Alvarez standing there; he has chosen to leave the Mayans and come to work for the cartel instead; replacing Devante.

Season 2[]

"Xbalanque"[]

Miguel and Emily are trying to arrange plans for fire damage on property Miguel owns to be repaired, the cause of the fire isn't revealed. Miguel and Alvarez leave to go on business.

Dita tells Emily that she is concerned that Miguel hasn't been around much to see Cristobal due to work. Emily brushes her off.

Emily continues to work on the figures in preparation to submit them to gain building permits. Emily makes Miguel promise to take Dita to a therapist, Emily claims that Dita is becoming worse. Dita then abruptly arrives to tell the pair that Alvarez has arrived.

Emily later has a meeting with business men to submit her building application. Dita interrupts to tell her that they need to be leaving for her therapist appointment soon, Emily explains that she isn't taking her today as Miguel was supposed to. Dita enquires that surely Miguel has more important thins to do to which Emily snaps that she does also, Dita leaves her to return to her meeting. Emily immediately calls Miguel, but he declines her call.

Later that night Miguel apologises to Emily about missing the appointment, he explains that he was with Luisa and Emily appears very suspicious as she asks if Miguel knows who the father of Luisa's baby is, Miguel explains he doesn't know.

"Xaman-Ek"[]

Emily, Miguel and Dita arrive at the city centre, Emily is working more on the building project, she steps outside the car and Emily wishes Miguel luck with Dita. They are hoping that her visit to the doctor will convince her to seek psychiatric treatment for her ever worsening mental state. Miguel gets back in the car with Dita and leaves. Emily heads inside and speaks to Ileana, who appears to be an old friend, they exchange pleasantries before Ileana explains to Emily that there have already been six other bids placed for the project.

Furious, Emily storms in to Antonia Peña, the Santo Padre mayor's office. She demands to know why she wasn't told about the additional bids and Peña explains that the city is running on no money and the rules were changed to allow the Galindo's to make a bid, allowing even more to bid also. Emily lightly threatens Peña as she explains that Miguel should be the only person she is answering to.

Emily calls Miguel to tell him of the situation and tells him to come to city hall immediately. The pair meet and Emily discloses that she doesn't know who the other bidders are. Miguel stoically explains he will find out and handle it. Emily becomes angry and tells him that he can't bring the cartel world in to their business life, Miguel retorts that he sees no reason why he can't, as all big companies are corrupt anyway. Emily reminds him that he will ruin his legacy if he is caught and Miguel has a son to think of. Emily ends by saying that she will speak to Ileana.

Nestor arrives in a panic and asks Miguel if he has heard from Dita, Miguel is confused and Nestor can't look him in the eye as he admits he doesn't know where she has gone.

They return home and Alvarez tells Miguel that he has the sheriff department searching after they were unable to locate Dita at any hospitals. Paco, one of Miguel's bodyguards enters and announces that Dita has just arrived home. They rush outside to see Dita arriving in a truck with Felipe Reyes, the father of EZ and Angel. Dita appears confused and explains that she got disoriented and Felipe kindly agreed to drive her home.

Emily and Miguel put Dita to bed and Miguel is immediately concerned. He questions why Dita would go and see EZ's father, Emily insists that she has never told her anything about her and EZ. Emily attempts to reassure Miguel with the notion that Dita has agreed to go to see a psychiatrist.

"Camazotz"[]

Emily returns home and tells Miguel that she has some dirt on Ileana and is going to attempt to offer her money in exchange for some information about the other bidders. Miguel is very unhappy with this attempt at bribery and reminds her that business is supposed to be legit. Emily becomes angry and tries to reason with Miguel that it is just business, as they continue to shout over each other Cristobal begins to sob and Dita rushes over to take him off Emily but she snaps at her not to touch him, Dita quickly apologises and briskly walks off. Emily realises she was out of order and quickly heads upstairs too.

She soon returns downstairs to see that Potter and Anna Linares are outside, Potter explains that Miguel will need to come with him. Emily kisses Miguel goodbye as he goes with the pair.

Emily heads to city hall with Nestor and waits outside for Ileana to finish for the day. Upon her emerging she offers her a ride home which Ileana appears reluctant to accept. Emily apologises for her bluntness the other day and shows concern for the fires we learned about earlier in the season, the same ones that injured Dita. The two share a sweet moment as Ileana confesses that she has always admired Emily and will always be there for her. They arrive at Ileana's hotel and Emily asks Nestor to step out. Emily hands Ileana a cheque for $50,000 and admits that she knows that Ileana has been borrowing money from Diana, Emily's estranged mother; Ileana frantically tries to explain that it's just a loan and she lost everything in the fires. Ileana begins to suspect that Emily has ulterior motives and asks what the real cost is. Emily all but confirms she wants information about the other agra park bidders. Ileana becomes angry and Emily begins to cry and conjures up a sob story about how she is trying to fit in with Miguel's world. She retracts her earlier offer and says she doesn't want anything for the money and wants to help Ileana to make herself feel better. This seems to do the trick as Ileana gratefully accepts the money.

Emily receives a phone call from Ileana later that night. Ileana inquires that if she was to "need more help" could she provide information in exchange for it, Emily tries to act cool and effortlessly tell Ileana that it would be much appreciated, the mere thought of Ileana taking her bribes is enough to get Emily to pace anxiously. She immediately calls Miguel afterwards and explains her plan was a success, he is slightly angry but tells Emily he trusts her judgement.

The following day Ileana meets Emily and provides her with the figures to the other bids for the park project.

"Lahun Chan"[]

Emily continues to work on their new agra park bid, they have a huge advantage knowing what their competitors can offer. She quickly discusses it with Miguel but he is mostly letting her do all the work. Miguel explains he's going south today to deal with Potter business. Emily reminds Miguel that Dita is going to her psychologist today, Emily says she will go with Nestor and make sure she doesn't escape this time.

Emily meets with Ileana again and she is rather blunt, pointing Emily towards Marlon Buksar, another employee so she can submit her new bid.

Emily and Nestor return to collect Dita from her appointment. Dita explains that she likes the doctor very much and thinks she will be able to help her. As they drive away Emily immediately becomes suspicious as she notices a truck belonging to Felipe parked close by.

After they return home, becoming ever suspicious of Dita's behaviour and involvement with Feliple, Emily pokes through her belongings and finds an old picture of her and Felipe together.

"Xquic"[]

Miguel returns home and speaks to Emily. He tells her that they lost Luisa, she gave herself up to keep their alliance hidden when Potter's mercs arrived. Emily tries to comfort Miguel but he is devastated at the loss. He laments how powerful Potter is, even in comparison to him; and he will hurt Luisa and her child. Emily accuses Miguel of having some romantic connection to Luisa, Miguel firmly denies this and explains that they have just been through a lot together. Miguel admits that he has been distant and has been blinded by the success that his deal with the DoJ has bought him, he apologises to Emily. Alvarez arrives with a phone call for Miguel.

Emily heads to the Galindo archives to look for some more intel about Dita and Felipe's relationship.

Emily visits Felipe's shop, hoping for some answers about him and Dita. Emily asks some tough questions and attempts to pull on Felipe's heartstrings but he is reluctant to answer, even after Emily tells him she saw him parked outside the doctors a few days ago. Emily reveals some documents that she had dug up, including a picture of Felipe and Dita. Emily tells him she knew that he used to be affiliated with the cartel and that he had changed his name. Felipe is left quite speechless by all the evidence Emily has presented against him, he tells her it is stuff of the past and no longer matters, but the information could hurt someone. Felipe asks Emily if she has shown anything to Miguel but she denies this.

"Muluc"[]

Emily receives a call from Ileana and goes to see her. Ileana confesses that the Galindo's bid for the project isn't going to win, a last minute bid has overtaken them and neither of them know how it happened. Emily quickly theorises that someone has been passing information to them, Emily realises that Marlon, Ileana's assistant is responsible and threatens Ileana in to giving her information. Emily says she will gather proof and then the new bid will be disqualified due to receiving insider information.

Emily soon barges her way in to a meeting between Miguel and the club, demanding to talk to Miguel, Miguel tries to get her to leave before a bloody Nestor stumbles through the doorway. Emily tries to help but Miguel orders her to be taken away.

Emily visits Felipe, she assures him that she has never mentioned what was discussed between the two of them to anyone. She then heads to the back to speak to EZ, she explains the situation with the agra park bid and Marlon and EZ agrees to threaten Marlon in to giving up the other bidders.

Miguel returns home to see Emily and she apologises for what happened earlier. Emily confesses that it's hard to balance their business life and cartel life now, Miguel enquires about what Emily needed help with but she says it has been fixed.

"Tohil"[]

Emily is horrified to see the news on the TV and learn that EZ had killed Marlon the previous night.

Emily and Miguel later head to city hall to speak to Antonia Peña, she informs them that Marlon is dead and it seems to be suicide. Miguel questions why they are here and Antonia explains that before Marlon took his own life, he emailed her and confessed ot have been taking bribes for insider information and giving ChinAgra, the company that Ileana had previously mentioned an unfair advantage. Emily quickly asks what this means for the project and Antonia explains that their bid will be removed and the Galindo bid will win. Antonia changes tone as she then directs her line of questioning to Miguel, suspecting foul play she asks him that what happened to Marlon never happens in Santo Padre again, Emily chimes in and gives her assurances before they depart.

Outside, Miguel is incredibly suspicious and tells Emily that the circumstances surrounding Marlon seem too unlikely and she must have had some sort of link to his demise, Emily denies and tells Miguel they should celebrate the legit business venture.

Later that night Miguel receives a call from Emily and she explains she is going to see Ileana, she is devastated over Marlon's passing and wants to be there for her. Emily heads to city hall and meets EZ inside, EZ explains that he accidentally killed Marlon after he pulled a gun on him and then ran with this suicide narrative after looking through Marlon's belongings and realising that he had a lot of reason to kill himself, huge debt, for example. Emily tears up as she blames herself for his death but EZ explains it isn't that simple and she shouldn't. Emily finishes by telling EZ that she owes him and she'll do anything for his family if he ever needs it. EZ says there is and produces an envelope, explaining it's a family thing.

"Kukulkan"[]

Emily begins to dig through family archives to help EZ. The envelope he had given her was a list of finances from many years ago and EZ wants to find out where they came from. She seems to find something that EZ is looking for.

EZ goes to a nail salon to secretly meet with Emily. He tells her the reason he asked her to look in to the accounts and Emily is horrified to learn that her family probably had something to do with Marisol Reyes' death. Emily has clearly found something but she refuses to tell EZ anything after he all but accuses Miguel of being responsible for the hit. Emily becomes enraged when EZ mentions their old life and slaps him across the face. She leaves and tells EZ she will find more proof that his assumptions are wrong about Miguel.

Emily arrives home and speaks to Miguel, they discuss the Santo Padre paper announcing Galindo Enterprises as the winner of the AgraPark project and Miguel states he is glad Marlon isn't mentioned.

Emily returns to the archives and finds more information which seems to confirm that EZ was correct all along. She then heads out to collect Dita from her psychologist appointment. She presents her with the records she found in storage and asks about Dita's past. She questions Dita as to why she chose to live outside of Jose Galindo's circle, even when he was working for the government. Dita cuts her off and asks what she has found, Dita simply tells Emily that the answers she seeks about old accounts are dead and buried. Dita gets out of the car and heads inside. Emily tells Nestor that she wants to go back in to town as she had some more errands. As they drive, Emily tells Nestor she wants to go to Felipe's shop.

They arrive at the shop and it is closed, Emily assures Nestor that he will open for her and must get Miguel steak for dinner. Felipe opens the door and Emily explains she just wants steaks, he lets her in. Emily explains to Felipe that she was looking at the family archives today and found some old accounting ledgers. Felipe looks over the records and demands answers as Emily desperately questions him over him and Dita's past connection. Emily drops the bombshell on Felipe that EZ has discovered a hitman was supposed to kill both him and Marisol and the payments came from Galindo accounts; signed off by Dita. Felipe asks if anyone else knows and Emily says she has kept it a secret so far, not even telling EZ. Felipe tells Emily to do nothing for now and give him a few days and they will get everyone together and discuss further. Emily glances outside and sees that Miguel has just pulled up, she quickly heads outside and Miguel questions her. Felipe heads outside also, to hand Emily the steaks. Miguel sarcastically remarks to Felipe that all the women in his life can't stay away from him, Felipe calmly responds that he is the only butcher in town. Emily retorts that Nestor is keeping a close eye on her as Miguel ushers her in to his car.

"Itzam-Ye"[]

Miguel is meeting with Nestor and Alvarez. Emily enters and Miguel shows her some leverage he was able to obtain from Palomo, information about Potter's lover and son. He explains to Emily that he isn't going to threaten them, but the woman was a witness in a case that helped Potter make it big. If it's exposed, he'd lose all credibility. He apologises to Emily again and says they don't want anymore lies between each other, Emily agrees. He asks about Emily's late night visit to Felipe but Emily once again brushes it off as just getting dinner. He further presses on the death of Marlon and Emily becomes enraged and leaves.

Dita heads outside to speak to Emily and confesses to her that she wanted to die in that fire all those months ago. Emily sadly says that she knows and asks if Devante's death is the reason why, Dita says that it is partly but mostly because she felt like she has no purpose anymore. Dita says she blames herself for the falling out between Emily and Miguel, they need to repair it before it's too late.

Dita returns to Emily and says she has booked a spa evening for them, Emily attempts to say she doesn't have time but Dita won't hear it, she asks Nestor to bring them. They arrive at the spa and Dita leads Emily out the back to where Felipe is waiting, Dita tells Emily she has about an hour and a half. Felipe explains to Emily that it's time to talk as they drive away.

Felipe arrives home with Emily and EZ and Angel are already waiting. Emily begins to theorise and tells them that Sons of Anarchy Motorcycle Club member, Happy Lowman, was indeed hired by the Galindo cartel but it was done under the radar and the funds came from the account of Dita. This sparks the question of why did the cartel wants Felipe and Marisol dead, which Felipe answers. He had an affair with Dita but ended it soon afterwards; Dita didn't want to let him go and Felipe was scared of retaliation so he moved away and changed his name with Marisol. Angel wonders why twenty years later their mother was killed, which EZ answers with the only person who still had a connection and knew where they had now moved to was Miguel, who would have been told everything by his late father. Emily is furious at this accusation and says Miguel would never be involved in murder. She asks EZ what he is going to do now and his silence is answer enough.

EZ drives Emily home while she quizzes him on what happens now, EZ receives a text from Potter and admits everything to Emily about Felipe's deportation. Emily tells EZ that she has intel on Potter which will stop him for continuously chasing his family but he will only get it on the condition that EZ leaves Emily's family be. She is worried for Miguel as they now all believe that he is the man responsible for ordering the hit on Felipe and Marisol. EZ drops Emily back at the spa where Dita is waiting.

"Hunahpu"[]

Emily tells Miguel that she is going to speak to Ileana to get some advice about the bidding ceremony later, Galindo Enterprises have finally won the bid for the Agra Park project after all of Emily's hard work. Miguel sarcastically asks how Ileana is, stating she must be suffering after losing her staff but Emily insists she is okay.

Emily arrives at city hall to see that Ileana is packing her things, she tells Emily that she is moving to San Diego and wants nothing more to do with her. EZ soon arrives and meets with Emily again and she gives him the intel against Potter. EZ is made to promise once again that he will not harm Miguel.

The Galindo's attend the Agra Park ceremony. Emily gives a short speech and together her and Miguel dig the first mound of dirt for the start of the project.

The Galindo household is in full panic after Miguel learns that Dita stole a car and has disappeared, Alvarez tells him they have the sheriffs looking. A sobbing Emily runs down the stairs with a letter, presumably one of suicide. The note details a location and they rush to it. A devastated Miguel falls to his knees as he sees the charred corpse of his mother.

Season 3[]

"Pap Struggles with the Death Angel"[]

Antonia is berating Emily. Since Dita's death, Miguel has lost control of both his business and criminal lives. Work on the Agra Park project has stalled and as a result people have lost their jobs. Antonia accuses the Galindo's of ruining the town's politics due to Miguel's criminal life. The border between the US and Mexico has been shut down and imports are difficult, resulting in no work being done. Emily calmly tells Antonia that it isn't anybody's fault. Antonia leaves after telling Emily she knows how she really won the bid and there is blood on her hands.

Emily insists that she knew Marlon but didn't know about him working on the Agra Park project and was sad to hear about his suicide. The pair seem satisfied with her answers and go to leave. It is EZ's turn to change the subject, he speaks of time not being linear, and tells Emily that he dreams of everything they thought of that night, all those years ago came true in some other timeline. Emily coldly replies that she doesn't believe that at all, to which EZ agrees, standing up, he reiterates what Emily asked of him.

Emily stops him as he goes to leave, asking him to promise that he'll be okay; EZ tells her to promise first. Emily outstretches her pinky finger, awaiting EZ to shake on their pinky promise; EZ however, cannot bring himself to make the promise. He compliments Emily's hair and leaves.

Luis teaches Emily to shoot, he remarks that shooting relaxes him. Emily retorts and asks him if killing people makes him feel good. Luis refutes this, claiming he doesn't like that, he just believes that Emily is depressed and wants to help her. Emily says that Luis doesn't know anything about her. Luis elaborates, stating that he has worked for Miguel for a long time and the Galindo family is very important to him. Emily snaps at Luis and says that he is sad and pathetic as he has spent his whole life being Miguel's "errand boy". Luis seems hurt by her comment and she quickly apologises, Luis brushes it off and continues with the shooting lesson. With Luis' assistance, Emily is able to shoot the bottles.

Suddenly, Luis tells Emily that he knows she is planning to escape, and was trying to do so at the grocery store. Emily asks if Luis would let her, but he replies by saying that Miguel won't. Emily queries why Luis hasn't told Miguel this yet and Luis answers by stating that she didn't, so he doesn't need to, besides; it will never happen. Before he effortlessly blasts four bottles without missing a bullet.

Emily, Luis and Cristobal head to the park. A woman approaches Luis to apologise after knocking over his coffee, she innocently asks him which child is his, to which Luis comically replies that he is "just watching". This causes the woman to call out to her child and tells them to stay close. Emily giggles at this interaction and asks Luis if he really doesn't have any family or even a pet. Luis insists that the Galindo family keeps him plenty busy and he is perfectly happy with that. Suddenly, Maria begins to shout Cristobal's name, realising he has gone missing, Luis and Emily begin to search for him. As Emily wildly glances around, she notices an older woman walking off with Cristobal, she chases them down but by the time she reaches Cristobal, the woman has vanished, Cristobal tells Emily that the woman said she had a present for him.

She promises that Emily will not get away with it and she will take her fight to court.

Emily excuses herself to go to the bathroom, a million thoughts rush through her head before she heads outside and Charlotte tells her it is time for her to leave. Without thinking, Emily grabs a stone statue and beats Charlotte over the head with it, she falls to the floor and Emily continues to strike her; eventually beating her to death.

Emily desperately rings Luis, he soon arrives and assists Emily in making the scene look like a slip in the shower; Luis assures Emily everything is okay.

Luis nonchalantly states that whenever Miguel has a problem, he has always made it go away. This causes Emily to look quite fearful, and put two and two together and realise that Luis is likely responsible for killing her sister.

Emily is having camera systems installed in the home, fearful of her recent actions might bring heat and the attempted kidnapping of Cristobal. She is snappy with the installation man and Luis warns the man to do exactly what she says.

"Slow to Bleed Fair Son"[]

Miguel, Emily and Luis arrive home. Emily realises that they have left Cristobal's stuffed toy in the car, if he awakens without it, he will not be happy. Miguel heads outside to the car. Emily asks Luis to carry Cristobal up to bed and he of course, agrees. Emily also asks him to leave his gun holster downstairs.

Whilst Miguel searches the car, Emily quickly retrieves Luis' discarded weapon and dons a pair of gloves. Her mind races as her moment of freedom slowly creeps up, she hears the front door open and Miguel enters the home again. He goes to speak but is stunned to silence when he sees Emily holding the gun. He takes a step towards her and she opens fire, shooting him once in the chest. Miguel stumbles, a look of horror etched in his face as Emily fires another round off, dropping Miguel to the floor and killing him.

Luis sprints downstairs, having heard the gunshots. He runs to Emily, who grabs him, pretending to be distressed. "I know you killed my sister" she hisses in his ear before revealing the gun and executing Luis, throwing him to the floor.

Her murders complete, she lays the gun by Luis' side and removes her gloves, she quietly begins to count to herself, getting to five before she begins to scream and runs over to Miguel's body. Putting on quite a show for the newly installed cameras.

The emergency services are soon all over the scene. Emily sits outside an ambulance, cradling Cristobal. Her heart pounds as she hopes that her genius plan of a murder-suicide will be enough to fool the police. After they had arrived, she explained that Luis' had taken a romantic interest in her and she had denied his advances. This caused Luis to kill Miguel out of jealously, and then kill himself.
