- "He didn't really want to be in charge anyway."
- ―August Marks, after killing Darnell
Darnell was the short lived former leader of the One-Niners on the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Played by American actor BJ Britt, Darnell makes his debut on the episode "Sovereign" in the series' fifth season. Killed by Damon Pope's assistant, August Marks, after being set up, Darnell met his demise on the subsequent episode, "Authority Vested", in the same season.
Darnell was the Lieutenant of the One-Niners until he discovered that their leader Laroy Wayne was killed by Damon Pope for being unable to prevent the murder of his daughter, Veronica Pope, at the hands of Tig, and was made the new leader by August, who then arranged a meet between the Jax and the Sons of Anarchy and Darnell, and he was given a gun and ordered to kill Jax Teller, but when he tried to shoot him the gun had no bullets and was almost beaten to death by an enraged Jax. Darnell was then immediately shot in the head by August in front of the Sons of Anarchy to demonstrate Damon Pope's power.
